I of course had to pick a casual pattern that had to be ordered...so I think it scared people away from getting it...but my sister and mom have been good about getting me it for gifts...

Re: Has anyone bought the remainder, or some of the stuff off your registry?

I've bought some stuff from our registry. I had gift cards and certificates to both Macy's and Fortunoff, so when I had the 10% thing, I did that and used the cards. We bought a few things like colanders, and other kitchen gadgets that we didn't get at the shower or e-party.
We were very lucky that we received all our every day dishes and flatware, all of our china (including serving pieces!), my parents bought us our flatware for an engagement present. We were overwhelmed at everyone's generosity at both our e-party and my shower.

Many of our gifts were from our registry as well as monetary gifts. The rest were wrap gifts that were NOT from our 3 registries of Macy's, Crate & Barrel, and Knot.com. A year after our wedding we still are missing a lot of stuff from our 3 registries. Occassionally I buy from our registries to complete sets or my in-laws purchase from our registries.

Re: Has anyone bought the remainder, or some of the stuff off your registry?

After my shower I returned all the gifts that my MIL and SIL brought me and got my everyday dish set. I also got myself a few other items. I have all my placesetting for my china and some of the serving pieces but there is always more to get. I also got myself a bunch of my Christmas place setting. I need more of the extra pieces for that.
I was lucky that I had a lot of kitchen/entertaining stuff before I even got engaged.

But I didn't go nuts and clear out my registry by anymeans.
