Re: Has anyone bought the remainder, or some of the stuff off your registry?

I told my family to keep referring to the registry for Birthday or X-mas presents. My B-day just passed and my SIL bought us a place setting of our China. I'll probably put the word out again at X-mas this year.

My DH and I went to Williams-Sonoma after the HM because we had a few gift certificates and we bought stuff off the registry with them.

I don't know if we'll ever manage to get EVERYTHING though. Would be nice!

I'm still working on finishing off my china... everything else was bought.

My mom buys me a piece of china for every occasion. I wish my MIL would too.
Greedy, greedy ME!

Re: Has anyone bought the remainder, or some of the stuff off your registry?

Mine was almost finished - all that was left was a set of 4 dinner knives (which my mom gave me money to buy) and my saute pan (it was like $200 so no wonder no one bought it). I did add a few things recently to my Crate and Barrel registry after I moved into my new home....because people keep asking what they can buy us .. I figured I would add a few things in case they looked there...if not I have a bunch of C&B gift certificates - so I will buy them myself...it gelps me remember what I wanted and/or need.

Re: Has anyone bought the remainder, or some of the stuff off your registry?

we received all of our china, with the exception of 1 serving bowl which we need to buy. I also need to purchase most of our formal glasses, which I'm hoping to get this year for Christmas

I'll probably buy the remainder afterwards but overall we did really well

Re: Has anyone bought the remainder, or some of the stuff off your registry?

Fortunatly most of my stuff was bought for us. BUT it is good for a year and you get a discount once you are married. So I added some things. For example I am a teacher and I needed some organizers for my classroom. So I went onto LnT and added some organizers, went to LnT and bought them off my registry - and got the discount.
I did add some things because people want to buy us 'together' gifts for the holidays, etc.

Re: Has anyone bought the remainder, or some of the stuff off your registry?

Unfortunately there was tons of stuff that we didnt get, we already spent about 750$ at Fortunoff and 300$ at BBB to buy the things we didnt get, of course there is more, but a little at a time right!

Re: Has anyone bought the remainder, or some of the stuff off your registry?

We were going to, but we're going to wait until we have the house to buy more things. We don't even have room in our apartment now from the showers I had, I can't imagine adding anything else in here.

I still have things on my registry. I plan to get them at some point. I need more space for everything. So until then no more shopping.

Re: Has anyone bought the remainder, or some of the stuff off your registry?

I bought a few things off the registry, mostly bedding. I actually have a lof ot things left. No one ever really told anyone where I was registered. A lot of people found the Macy's registry but I think I only got 4 gifts from Fortunoff. I figure I'll get a lot of it myself and from my mom and MIL.

Re: Has anyone bought the remainder, or some of the stuff off your registry?

I got everything off my BBB, and mostly everything from my Fortunoff one, except for 1 platter from my place settings and some small utensils and my coffee maker, I stopped drinking coffee anyway, but I want to purchase it for guests. I also didn't get the window treatments that match my bedding, but maybe its better because when I move, I don't know how many I would need.

I also have a few Fortunoff gift certs so I can go buy the stuff but I too have no room where I presently am to put it. Most of the stuff from my shower is stored in my MIL's attic for now

I was so lucky because we got everything off of all our registries (Fortunoff, Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn)...

I also registered at Target for my in-laws in IL. and FL.- there's stuff left on there but I really don't need it- like mixing bowls, sheet sets, etc.

We were SO lucky because my mom bought all our China for our wedding gift. All of our crystal was bought (but it was the non-cut crystal so it wasn't expensive) as was all our silverware (bought by Mom again for the shower).

We REALLY got everything. It was SO overwhelming unpacking everything when we moved. Thank god we have a big kitchen with a load of cabinets!

Re: Has anyone bought the remainder, or some of the stuff off your registry?

We didn't really get close to everything!! We got all of out china (everyday stuff - we didn't register for fine china). but we didn't get most of our cookware or our silverware - we're actully going to go hopefully this week to buy the rest of the flat ware.
FYI - the Lenox outlet in Riverhead Tanger outlet has a sale on a lot of the silverware, so if anyone if looking to buy some... I think they told us it ends in October.
