has anyone dyed their wedding dress?

It may sound strange but I am going to look into having my wedding dress dyed and altered so that I can wear it again. It is a georgous dress and if the crinoline and boning is taken out, if the dress is shortened and if the color can be dyed, I could wear it again to a black-tie function. Has anyone considered this?

I will preserve it if I can't do this but I figured that 1) my future daughter will probably hate the dress since we all usually hate our mother's wedding dresses, and 2) I'd rather spend the money and get some use out of it rather than just stick it in a box.

Has anyone considered this?

Re: has anyone dyed their wedding dress?

It wouldn't work with my dress, but I got mine preserved because I may turn my train into a Christening Gown and also because even though I know my daughter won't wear my dress (I think everyone deserves their own to enjoy!) I still had tons of fun growing up playing with my mom's.

If you can convert your dress that would be neat! Do you have any pictures of it?

Never thought about it. It looks like your dress would work though!
