has anyone ever changed their cat's (or dog's) food?
i just changed Miller's (our cat) food... i started him on Wellness brand weight loss food. i know you are supposed to mix the new food in with his old food in little by little so his stomach gets used to it.....
but my question is - how long do i do this for before i can just start feeding him the new food by itself? i just started incorporating the new food yesterday.... i usually feed him 1/2 a cup in the morning and 1/2 cup of food at night

when we switch ollie's food we mixed it in by 1/4 cups. We usually feed her 1 cup of food per meal so the first day it was 3 quarters of her regular food and 1 quarter of her new food. The next day it was 1/2 cup old food 1/2 cup new food, the next day 3 quarters of a cup new food, 1/4 cup old food, you get the idea. I know people like to mix the new food with the old food more gradually but this has worked for us and we switched her food twice.

I switched Dora to wet food for dinner. Im trying to help her lose weight. Maybe I should try the diet food youre using. Where can I get it?

I changed Annie's food from that crapola Cat Chow to Halo bc she has a VERY sensitive stomach and we just fed her half and half at each feeding until it was all of the Halo brand.

SOMETIMES Petco has Wellness. I've only ever seen it at Pet Supply stores though.

That's what we did also for our puppy. We wound up having 2 cans left over , so I just used them until they were gone, even if we were only putting a 1/4 in his bowl. He doesn't have those nasty farts anymore thank god! lol Booo wet food.
