My cousin is getting married soon, and I just checked out the registry at Bed, Bath & Beyond. His fiance registered for 5 $200 gift certificates, and 10 $100 gift certificates. She also registered for other things.
I never seen a registry including gift certificates.

Geez, she could at least be subtle about it like the rest of us and register for high ticket items that she plans to exchange. *wink, wink*

No Why wouldn't you just pick out stuff you wanted at BBB? One of my BM suggested that we do that at Macys because we needed a new mattress and you couldn't put that on your registery. We didnt do it.

Omg!! I didn't even know that you could register for gift certificates. What a fun shower she'll have, opening gift card after gift card....Isn't that just like asking for money though? I dunno, it's definitely not my style!

Re: Has anyone ever seen this
when we registered at JC Pennys there was a sections where we could put a message to our guests and one of them said that we preferred gift certificates. I thought it was a little too forward for me!

Re: Has anyone ever seen this
Why would someone register for GC?? why not just list the things you want instead. WOW, that is different.

Re: Has anyone ever seen this
wow! never saw that either. I know there was a check box on mine that said gift certifcates welcome but not registering for actual gift certificates. that would turn me off.

Re: Has anyone ever seen this
I was like Niecey - the C&B registry had a check box saying gift certificates welcome (and I got a couple of those), but I would have never registered for specific gift certificate amounts. How strange!

Re: Has anyone ever seen this
I shared this with my GF and she said that maybe there is one thing that they want that might be pricey so instead of registering for one expensive item, they want everyone to contribute towards the cost of the item..I dunno, she was reaching I guess I don't know

Re: Has anyone ever seen this
That reminds me of something else I heard, this person placed a card in the invite for Liberty Travel for payments towards their honeymoon. Personally, I thought it was a little tacky, but whatever!!!

Re: Has anyone ever seen this
Niecey - I had that on my Fortunoff's registry! When it was printed out, it said, in HUGE letters: GIFT CERTIFICATES WELCOME!!!!! I was so embarrassed - hoping no one would think I added that to mine! LOL

Re: Has anyone ever seen this
She registered for a lot of pricey things, including a iron for $199. I don't think anything on her registry was under $100.
Mind you, this person came to my wedding and two other cousin's wedding without a gift or a card. She was at my shower, and didn't bring a gift either.

You must do the same Nats, or bring her that hideous bird figurine
