My cousin is getting married soon, and I just checked out the registry at Bed, Bath & Beyond. His fiance registered for 5 $200 gift certificates, and 10 $100 gift certificates. She also registered for other things.
I never seen a registry including gift certificates.

Re: Has anyone ever seen this
She didn't bring a gift to your shower or wedding! Then she would get a big fat 0 from me. I probably would skip the shower and use the money on a nice dinner with my DH instead.

I have never seen it on a registry, thankfully. Although there have been times in my family when somebody really young gets engaged & runs out & registers so their parents can have a big e-party for them & they're not getting married or living together for three years. I ALWAYS get those cousins of mine GC's because I know by the time they get married they'll hate the stuff they registered for.
Natasha-I would give her something very cliche bridal shower, like a $15 toaster WITH NO RECEIPT!!! I can't believe she didn't give you anything

Re: Has anyone ever seen this
i did have some gift certificates on my registry. My registry was so small and we were expecting 250 guests for the wedding so I just added it on there when I couldn't find anything else I wanted thinking I would use the gift certificate one day.

One of you ladies should give one of your gifts that you received and you don't want to Natasha so she can bring it with her. NO Jen not the yellow sweater, NO anna no yellow boxed item. Maybe a lenox frame would be nice seeing there are so many. Hey then again what about a crockpot Debbie, mail it to Natasha. What about some old earrings Oh my goodness I am slaying myself today. What about cross with someone else's name on it

I've never heard of that! I don't think it's something I'd *ever* do.

Re: Has anyone ever seen this
Our Crate & Barrel registry has an option that says 'gift certificates welcome' which we also check it off. However, there were no denomiations or amount of gift certificates indicated on our registry.
IMHO, you've got to be pretty daring and bold to indicate the amount of gift certificates to request.

Shamma you are too funny. I am sitting here cracking up.
I will not be buying anything from the registry. However, I will show a little class and go to her shower with a gift, if they could get that together. The wedding is in Jamica at the end of March.

Re: Has anyone ever seen this
For my sister's wedding, she got a huge Mikasa picture frame she did not like. Thus, she gave it to me at both my shower and my wedding (at my wedding, the bride pictured had a mustache and beard drawn on her). Both times, it mysteriously ended up back at my sister's house shortly thereafter. I can see if she is willing to part with it for a third time?

I have never heard of that either. Might as well just ask for cash. My brother's fiance registered for a lot of pricey stuff. I mean who really needs a $325 ice bucket, or a tea kettle that is $125 That is INSANE!!!!! She is NOT getting it for me. She didnt buy anything off my registry, so maybe I wont off hers

Re: Has anyone ever seen this
I think someone who comes to your shower AND wedding without a gift is in poor taste, but then to turn around and register for GIFT CERTIFICATES?!
She's got some nerve, Natasha. Go garage sale shopping, I'd say. You can pick her up a set of used tupperware or a table with 3 legs. Then maybe she'll get the hint.
Or maybe just post her contact's address & we'll all send our unwanted gifts over. What a riot that'd be!
it seems a little tacky to me...considering that BBB lets you return ANYTHING on your registry for CASH!!
