Have any of you girls been to Spain or Italy?

I am planning our next vacation and it will either be Spain or Italy. We are going to go in the summer but I heard august is horrible there so its looking more like July.

Any thoughts?

I was in both Spain in italy mid September last year. The weather was perfect- warm but not horrible and sunny.

August is rough, honestly.....July is also. Your best bets would be to go in May/June or Sept. Oct. Is that at all possible.

How exciting! I'd love to go back.

I wish I could go n september but I will be back in school. So I was thinking late june/early july.

Ive been to spain, butttt it was with my ex boyfriend and his family who have a house there...not in a very tourist area and my ex was an a-hole, so i didnt have the best experience!

i went in august! and it rained alot! i think there was one day the sun was out!

I went to Italy this past Sept for my hm, the weather was PERFECT.

I went the first time in July and it was SWELTERING.

I have been to Italy in July, I was in Florence for the 4th and they just happened to be having a music festival with fireworks, wasn't our 4th of July but it was close. Its not to bad.

Rome is very hot in the summer but its great. Just remember to go to any churches you have to have your shoulders and knees covered so dressing for it is hard. I bought a lot of long dresses with little short sleeve jackets, because I figured long pants would be to hot.

Florence is cooler. It was actually perfect there. Same with Venice. By the way everyone always says Venice smelled, I didn't think so at all. Could be the time of year or the fact that I have lived on the water all my life so the smell of low tide doesn't phase me. Milan was gorgeous, but we were only there for two nights, one day... on a Sunday. Don't go to the fashion capital of the world on a Sunday, everything is closed. Its horrible.

I think we might do Spain but let me see how it all works out

Have been to Italy not spain. LOVE Venice and Assisi, liked Florence and Sienna, lukewarm on Rome.
Oh loved Milan!

You can always do some of trip to mountains or even go to Switz. to cool down.

Switz and Italy would be great honeymoon combo!
