Hi!! As some of you may know I'm in Grad school for education. I'm hoping you can help me make a decision.
I'm thinking about taking a summer class. I CAN take it in the fall but I hear the teacher is much harder and I like the idea of getting it over with in 5 weeks.
QUESTION: The class is from July 3 to Aug 4. Our wedding is Aug 29. Is this crazy or will I be OK?
I figure most of the big preparation will be finished and the last details could be done in Aug.
Being you all already went through your weddings do you think there was an insane amount to do a month and 1/2 before the wedding or can I do this?
Your opinion's are so much appreciated

I would say go for it! You are busy the month before your wedding -- meeting with the vendors and finalizing stuff. But, you'll have 3 weeks between the end of class and your wedding, so I think that is a good amount of time. The only thing to think about is do YOU think you'll be able to concentrate on your school work? Will you be working as well as going to school? That might just be a lot to handle...but if it's just school I say get it over with! Good luck!

Thank February!!! Yes, I will be working too but my job is not stressful at all. I have the syllabus from last summer for this class (my roommate took it) and it doesn't seem TOO bad (if they don't change it) I figure I will devote one full weekend day to schoolwork and I hopefull I'll be OK.

Betty- I would definitely do the summer class. You will still have enough time for the last minute details without stressing yourself out too much - good luck!!!

Take IT!!! for all the reasons you just stated... it'll be much easier & you'll get it over with sooner. Plus you may be able to take a different class in the fall & get ahead a little or lighten your course load. You'll be fine w/the wedding ... plenty of time b/f things really get crazy!

Thank you all for your help!! Fh says I should take the class and if it is the harder professor (same as in the fall) I can always drop it and take it in the fall. I really want to get it over with.
Taking it in the summer will also lighten my load for the fall (I will only take one class) so I can concentrate on my new marriage

I think if you can get a lot done before hand then GO FOR IT!!!!! It will keep you busy, and your mind away from the planning.
You will still have a feww weeks in between the wedding. Best of Luck to you

I'm in the minority here ... but I work Full time and go to grad school - not sure if you are working FT - but I made sure my classes ended about 1 1/2 months before the wedding ... I was so busy stressing over the wedding and minute details that I didn't want to worry about studying for midterms/finals and writing a paper - instead on my free nights, I got to spend time with my FH before he became my DH! But that's me! If you feel up to it and it won't stress you completely, then go for it! Good Luck!

I would do it and get it over with. You have a few weeks to take care of last minute stuff so go for it.

As long as you have HELP with the wedding plans and you don't mind a fast paced stressful life then go for it. If you are one of those people who hates rushing around, feeling pressure to get stuff done etcc....then wait. The last few weeks can be your busiest.

Thank girls!! I'm OK rushing around...It's when I'm at my best I think I may do it. I'll have May and June to do lots and then 3 weeks before the wedding. I forgot to mention I will also have off (from work) on Weds by then so that is a big help. Luckily I also have a GREAT sister (MOH) and Mom to help with running around

Do it Betty! I did my student teaching in the fall and it ended 3 weeks before my wedding, AND it was the holidays, and I didn't feel shorted on time at all! You will be sooo happy its out of the way! Go for it!
i took 2 summer classes last year that went from the beginning of July to mid august...and I got married on 7/14!!!
I talked to my professors and told them that I was going to miss two classes and I got all the assignments that were due in early...but you wouldn't have to do this...
I think you should do it...

Thanks Laura and Yabbo....You guys made me feel MUCH better (along with the rest of you )
It's funny to see the different answers from this board to the May board (I asked them b/c they are 1 month before so I wanted their opinions) They are getting close and really stressed over there and telling me not to take it. I hope I don't get all stressed and regret taking it when I am at the 6 week mark (and in class).
I really do want to get it over with and that will relieve my stress for the Fall (right after the wedding) I will only take one class in the fall (then a 6 credit class in the Spring and 1 more next summer....then student teaching and I'm DONE) I feel it will be much less stressful taking one class (that I can focus on) in the summer and one in the fall. I really don't want stress from 2 classes and work in the fall when I start my new life with FH.
Yabbo....2 SUMMER CLASSES while getting married....I don't know if I can be THAT stressful...I envy you!!!!
I was definitely stressed...but I didn't work...so it was a little easier...
after the wedding...I was pretty bored though without classes...even with work...now I've learned to love the downtime

I also worked over the summer of my wedding. I stopped 3 days before my wedding. I had early hours, so I was able to meet with vendors on last minute things.
