Have you ever......

Have you ever......

I think it is the lie that all brides tell (myself included):
'It is a great BM dress, you can wear it again.'

But seriously ladies, how many of you have worn a BM dress after the wedding?

Thanks.

I answered yes but let me qualify... one Homecoming week in school a bunch of female teachers were all talking about how we each must have at least 6-12 bridesmaid dresses. One of the days during Spirit week is 'Formal Dress Day'. About 10 teachers wore our old bridesmaid dresses.

Otherwise no.

I've never been a bridesmaid

Of the four times I've been a BM, one I had cut short and wore to a wedding a month later and another I hated, but my mom liked and she's worn it many times. It was a long, black dress with straps that criss-crossed in the back.

I donated the other two dresses to goodwill, which is where I think the BM dresses from my wedding will end up...

Yep! I wore mine from my sister's wedding to my Senior Prom.

I know my girls have worn their dresses again (I've seen it too!) and I have one from a wedding I was in that is a basic red strapless dress that I would definitely wear again if I needed to.

Never.

Never. The first one was ugly and didn't fit right, the second one was gorgeous but where the heck am I going in a royal blue, velvet, long-sleeved gown? One of the other girls who was in that BP with me wore it as a halloween costume - she was a queen. And the third one, well it looks like a bridesmaid dress! It's pretty but...it's a bridesmaid dress.

My BM gown was 2 pieces so they could wear the top again with a skirt or a nice pair of pants. No one has done it yet though.

I've only been in 2 & I ve never worn them again, even though the first one I was able to pick out & it was a simple off the rack dress from Jc Penney. But it was (by request) pink & I was 19 & SO not into pink!

I didn't tell my BMs they'd where my dress again--I just tried to get oen that wasn't expensive instead, but my MOH did wear it to her company's holiday formal.

I never did BUT one of my BM from my wedding in April got her dress shortened and wore it to a wedding in the summer.

I wouldn't wear the BM dress I wore in my cousin's wedding but I would definitly wear the one my BM wore at mine!

Re: Have you ever......

NOPE! (but I did wear the dress I wore when I was an usher and it was technically a BM dress!)

My BM said to me 'We can definitely wear this again' I said 'YOU said it, not me' since I didn't want to say it as all the brides weddings I have been in said to me and none of them have been able to be used!

I was just going to say that!

Or you can go as a bridesmaid

I had one cut and wore it again to a wedding a couple of months later. I have one that when we picked it out, I totally thought I could wear it again, but I haven't (It's tea length, but I haven't had an affair to wear it) and the other 2 - nope! One is a tea length floral thing, that I think looked nice in her pics, but my brother always tell me it looks like a couch!

Depends on color, length and fabric. If it's a tea-length dress, there's a better chance that you'll get an opportunity to use it again.
