I had my gown & veil cleaned & boxed. They put the veil IN the box with my gown. Now I want to let someone wear my veil.
What will happen if I open the box? Will the world come to an end? Will I have to have it preserved again?

This is a good question....the dry cleaner who did mine told me not to open the box or I would need to bring it back to be preserved again. I think it has something to do with the packing and the tissue they use to keep it from turning yellow.

I think it depends on the TYPE of preservation you had done. I am probably going to have my dress cleaned by WedClean and their site says that you CAN open the box, and they recommend you do it every few years or something. But I know there's another type of preservation that once you break the seal, it's no longer 'preserved' - maybe call the place you had it done and see what they say?

i think they tell you not to open the box and reseal it because they certify the condition of it once it was preserved and the whole turning yellow factor.
where my mom did mine they said we can open it and then they would just charge us i think it was $40 to just re-preserve it (whatever that means!)

pretty sure that once you open the box and break the seal on it, you have to have it done all over again.

My sister loaned me her gown after she had hers preserved. Unfortunately, you'd have to have it preserved again if you open the box.
