Help!picking albums pics

K so can anyone give me any advice on how to begin this whole process of picking the album pics. How did you do it? I am so lost I don't know where to begin..thanks!

It is overwhelming! I had over 1,000 proofs and ended up with 89 in my album. I started by separating everything by time of day: my house getting ready, husband getting ready, arrival at church, ceremony, formal pictures session, cocktail hour, entering reception, cake cutting, dances with parents, etc. Then I went through each pile and picked my favorites, that brought me down to about 400 photos during the first round of cuts. Then I did it again only working with that 400 and got it down to 150, which I brought to the photographer and they helped me get it down to 89. Don't try to do it all at once! Good Luck!

I had 757 proofs - eventually I had it down to 192 that I brought with me for the design meeting (actually TWO meetings that were over 3 hours each!). I'm not even sure how many pictures we got it down to but the album is 60 pages!!

I tried to tell the story of the day and then there were certain pictures that I just wanted.

we sat one night and pulled ones we liked...then we narrowed it down more, pulled out ones that were similar or that had duplicates of the same people (couples and friends). We ended up with 96 or 97!!!

I had over a 1000.
Seperate all your proofs into every category: you before the church/ceremony, you and the girls, you and your family, the ceremony, after the ceremony, all together pictures, your family, his family, the guys, the girls, cocktail hour, first dance, cake, champange toast, dancing
Then pick pictures that tell a story from the beginning to the end of the day.

Thanks everyone. I took all of your advice and it went better then I thought it would. Not finished yet but the hardest part is done with! Thanks again
