Hi Ladies, I need your help yet again!! DH & I recently put in an offer for a house and it was accepted Contracts are still pending but we are in the process of looking for a mortgage. For those of you who are homeowners, any recommendations on where to start? As always I appreciate any advice that you guys can share!

I worked with a man named Dave Forbes with Chase Home Finance. He was excellent. I think he's based in Queens but he'll travel anywhere.

Lauren Pastore @ Wells Fargo in Melville... 516-577-8321 ... Shes very knowledable and will help you choose the right loan that best suited for your situation... We had another lender discourage us from an FHA loan bc they involve more paperwork but Lauren sat down with us in her office on a weekend to go over all the figures and see which loan would cost us less in the long run... We used a mortage broker too but our mortgage is with Wells Fargo. He's in East Islip and did a great job for us - the day before the closing he actually called me to tell me he found us a better rate! Let me know if you want his info.

we have chase as well... we love chase! our branch is the one in Huntington... i dont remember the guys name who helped us with everything, but everyone was really nice over there!

We used Chase for our mortgage but I would not recommend them at all!!! Im so glad everyone else had a good experience with them but me and DH didnt and I would never ever recommend them, sorry thats just my opinion.

I originally had Washington Mutual but it is now Chase, either way Donna Imbo was great and very helpful

We worked with Frank Bove at Wells Fargo in Hauppauge (631-382-2251). My parents are realtors and they have worked with him for years. He's really up front and won't 'forget' to include all of the extra costs when he gives you payment estimates. We actually paid less in closing costs than he predicted! Good luck!

I worked with a broker from Century 21 Lamonica in Patchogue. He was awesome and the bank was MCS. Our mortgage was already sold off to Chase which doesn't really matter. I have to say Jerry was great to work with as was Allison at the bank. I got a great rate and didn't have all the stress that so many people talk about...I never had to resend documents..it was sooo smooth.

I worked with a woman who without we wouldnt have closed yet. The mortgage is with well fargo but her name is Beth Marten at mortgage 123 In Baldwin. We have known her for 10 years and has been in the business for 30 years. She is amazing.

We WERE using my sister's DH as our broker. . .until LendAmerica went under about two weeks before we were practically set to close. He hooked us up with his friend at Continental Loans in Melville, Christian Durso, who has been great so far. At times, he can be a little slow in getting information to us, but that's mainly because he's trying to get the most up-to-date, thorough information to my DH.
Once my sister's DH is back in place with another mortgage company, I'll tell you!!
