Hi! I am a newlywed with name change questions...

I figured you guys were the best ones to ask these questions of!

I got an envelope with license and registration change info when we got our marriage license. Do i just send this back? It is addressed to Mark Bonilla at Hempstead Town Hall. Will they mail me a new license and reg. then?

What about social security card? Do I actually go to the SS office?

What about passport? How do you go about changing this?

This is a very weird feeling, knowing my old name will be erased!! I just want to make sure I do it all the correct way...

I went to each place to change my name...but you may be able to do it by mail (with the marriage certificate)


I always heard to keep your passport in your maidan name for a bit so you have id...but I needed a new one so I changed it (you can change passport by mail) and it got tough juggling btw names while flying...
