Hi newlyweds....what do I do next?

Wedding day was amazing and so was the honeymoon. Now I am just living in wedded bliss. Besides changing my name with social security, what else do I have to do?

TIA

Re: Hi newlyweds....what do I do next?

First of congrats!!!!!!!!

Name changing is a pain...the worst is dmv and social security. I still have to change my name on my car title, car insurance and passport. Should have done the car title when I was at dmv to change my name.

Thank you cards are also kind of a pain but other than those you're going to love newlywed life.

Re: Hi newlyweds....what do I do next?

Change your name at the DMV, change your name on your passport, if its about to expire. Change your name at work and on all legal documents there. Remember to change your name at the bank so that your new identity will match your old one.
Relax and enjoy the new adventure ahead!

I have to say, I thought it was going to be much more painful than it really was. I went to the SS office last Wednesday and the DMV. I spent less than 1 hour in total at both places but i went at the crack a$$ of dawn.
Yesterday when i got home, my new ss card was waiting for me and i thought, man, its official - kind of sad for a moment there.

Re: Hi newlyweds....what do I do next?

SS
License
Passport
Credit Cards
Your status on your W2
Banks
Car insurance

umm.. yeah.

I did my SS and license in the same day and it was easy. You can't change your passport until you get your marriage certificate. And as for credit cards most can be changed online directly.
