Holland America Cruises?

Anyone ever been on a Holland America cruise?

DH and I are thinking of doing a bermuda cruise in October, but neither of us have ever cruised with them and are worried that the ship will suck.

The two main questions are:
-- how's the food?
-- do they plan fun activities for days at sea like trivia games and silly contests like the hairy chest competition?

Thanks

ETA: also, how are the shows?

Re: Holland America Cruises?

I have never been on one, but when I went on my cruise to Bermuda on Celebrity, I saw the Holland America Cruise. It was docked at Hamilton, which is different from Celebrity and NCL coz in order to dock in Hamilton the boat needs to be significantly smaller. The good thing is that you are docked right in the heart of Hamilton.

As for the food, etc. I wouldn't know. All I know that I gained 10 pounds on my Celebrity Cruise....the food was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!

oh great

that's ok ... after looking into it a bit more, it wouldn't be as affordable as i thought it would (freakin' taxes + gratuities add up really quickly) ... i guess it works out that it's for old peeps

thanks to all three of you for the info
