HOLY S*IT!!!!!

HOLY S*IT!!!!!

OMG! I swear i have a 'sh*t on me sign' on my body somwehere...

I have had the worst two weeks and the punches just kep on rolling... As many of you know, i planned to leave my job soon and just find another because the conditions have gotten outrageous here with my supervisor. I was all prepped for it, planning for my two weeks notice because Dh and I figured it wouldnt be too hard for e eto find something because I am flexible.

Well JUST NOW I got a call from DH who said his boss is being audited...We are now expecting a 1099...

What happened? Well long story short, hhis boss was being shady and trying to hide money through his accountant. He was paying his drivers half on the books, half off. I didn't like that idea but thats how they did it, so we went along with it ince Pete's been working for them for almost 6 years

Ok so NOW it caught up to the boss and his accountant can't account for all the missing moola somehow so they are ALL being audited which emans we migth end up owing about 6 thousand dollars easily because of what DH makes on average a week...

We are NOT rich people. We have to work hard and now this... All because of greedy management...I am just done.

I am trying not to be mad at DH but Jesus CHRIST! He KNEW it was shady, insisted on staying at this job and now my ulcer is acting up because of this emss and I have to stay here and be punished because he made crappy decisions. And he doesnt understand WHY I am pissed?....

DONE!

I work for an accountant and I can tell you, if you should havr to owe the $$ (if he was a good accountant he should be able to fix the problem) but they allow you to make payments, but you need to contact the IRS before the due date as well as send a writtien letter. Sometimes your accountant can figure out a fee schedule (quarerly or more foten depending on how much it is) and you will just pay it off. You will pay a small interest fee for doing this, but its better then not paying the 6000 and them coming after you.

First thing you should be doing though, is calling your personal accountant and speaking with him about this. He may also be able to work some special #'s in due to the fact that you've been a student with LOTS of student expenses, etc.

Don't freak yet, it might not even come down to this. I hope his accountant is good thats working with the company, if he is it will probally be fine

Jenn, I'm so sorry that this stuff keeps happening to you lately. You really don't deserve this. Have you tried talking to your accountant about this?

Jenn, why is it that when it rains, it pours????

I'm so sorry you're facing this - I totally see why you're upset with DH, but look at the other side too - he probably didn't want to lose his job that he had been with for a while and potentially have a hard time finding something else at all right away, or something else he liked. It's F*d up that the company did this - would have been easier if DH hadn't gone along with it, but what's done is done. Move forward as a couple b/c at this point there's nothing else you guys can do (well, except pray a little!).

So, wait to see what happens. If you DO end up owing money, then do what Heather recommended and set up payments. Everything works out in the end - if it hasn't worked out, then it's not the end.

Thanks Heather. We don't have a personal accountant. We weer going to file our taxes through H&R block; before we got married, my parents always filed them for me, and his mom did the same for him. So we're fish out of water here.

The 6,000 is a guesstimate down because I was a non-working student for awhile, so we should owe less. The original estimate was high enough i won't repeat it because I may hit something.

I am just 7 shades of pissed because I KNEW this would bite us in the *** and he insisted on staying there at this ****** place that takes him afr from home so I never see him, and forces me to stay at this job thats given me an ulcer.

And he is being pigheaded about it! whining that i am making him feel like a lousy provider...Well hell..if the shoe fits today...

Mind you this is coming on top of the student loans we also have to pay because my school screwed me and I am not taking classes this semester... My parrents never paid off half like they were supposed to so now I have all of that hitting us as well...

I know Yesi..I guess Im angriest because he HAD other opportunities. They would have been a little crappy for a few months and then been great. but he was not willing to sacrifice to make our future better. He wanted the instant gratification with this job and the better paycheck. Yet I am supposed to stay with this job that is slowly physically killing me, guilted at every turn when I want to leave.

And NOW this...You know I never blare my really personal **** about my marriage but Its just too much on the cake right now.

Nope can't-looked into it already. we were able to defer them for the one semester I was not in school last semester but because I got screwed this semester, and cannot take classes, that waiver time they offered is up. I need to ante up... Just not sure where the money is going to come from.

I just want to sit and cry-Im just so done.

I know its been a tough couple of weeks but hang in there. It will work out, try not to stress over it. It stinks when people who are shady drag others down with them who had nothing to do with it.

Ok, World, you have to leave my Jenn alone now!! She is a wonderful person & doesn't need all this crap to be happening to her all the time. Ok, Jenn, you're all set now (if only it were that easy).

I know it stinks but try to stay calm & hopefully it will work itself out.

sometimes they'll do a hardship deferment. and if not, theyll make payment arrangement.

I'm sooooo sorry its come to this and you have to put up with all this!

As for the taxes, I think you should def. talk to someone if you do in fact have to pay, what are they going to do issue him a 1099 on the excess money?

I have my issues with H&R block from some horror stories we;ve had to fix, but if its the only route just do it. Explore all your options and if you don't htink something is right FM before you agree to anything! I can find out for you. It happens to a lot of people, I know in the moment it doesn't make you feel any better, but the IRS will work with you

Heather THANK YOU! I would appreciate that- I feel so stupid; 27 years old and know nothing about taxes. ironically the Devil Boss is an accountant and a good one from what I hear but I don't want her anywhere near my personal business.

I will have you on speed-FM

Jess I am going to call this weekend and see what i can do about the deferments. Thanks for the input.

Thanks in general girls. My little engine just doesn't feel like thinking it can today. But I ate lunch and I do betetr with food

Jenn, Jess is right - look into a deferment or a FORBEARANCE! They'll do it for monetary hardship!

Do you want to get a drink after work in the city???

Would you want to? I know it's disgustingly rainy out. But if you want to go out for a lil' bit, I'll buy! LOL I may have no money next month but yesterday I found 40 bucks in the city in Duane Reade.

I have to look into the Forebearance type then. I know one of the loans is through Citibank so i need to phone them.

Yeah the rainy thing SUCKSASS lol, but I would definitely be down to get a drink or meal or whatever! Let's pick a place

For Citibank, is it a Stafford loan? I have my Staffords through Citibank and can give you the website so you can read through the info on deferment/forbearance and contact them.

I think it is Stafford. That would be great> i just need a starting point.

We can definetly pick a spot. Only issue is I don't have my cell with me today so we can either iron out details and try and meet there and pray neither of us gets lost or take a raincheck; no pun intended. I know you have an appt. today so your call.
