We went to French Polynesia - Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora. We really loved it and I would recommend it for a relaxing honeymoon mixed in with activity days. A good rule of thumb for pricing out a FP trip is $1000 per day - so a 7 day HM about $7K, 10 days would be about $10K, etc. You could definitely go for less, just depends on which hotels and also which room categories (garden room is less expensive than overwater bungalows, for example).
This is where I want to go!!!!!!! <------Jealous!
You can go!!!! You may not be able to go for 2 weeks and stay at the St. Regis in an Overwater Bungalow the whole time, but not many people can (not us for sure!). See if a TA can give you a quote - Travel Tom was great with us and he really was good about asking our budget and working with that.

Re: Honeymoon ladies...need help
i absolutely LOVED doing all-inclusive. We did the Sandals Regency in St.Lucia and it was fabulous...food was delish & there were always fun things going on..plus - u can't beat all the free food, booze & activities that u want there is NOTHING like not having a budget. All the margaritas u want?? c'mon now! We didn't have to worry about a single penny...they only thing we spent $$$ on was gifts for each other & stuff from the gift shop....we also did a special tour that was outside of the resort..but it was only like $80 for the two of us. The Regency was the newest & largest of the 3 in st.lucia and also had the best restaurant reviews ...we resort hopped too & i have to agree It was also reccomended by our travel agent who had been to just about all of the sandals resorts... We used Nikki Mahoney through Liberty travel..my family has used her for years..she's fabulous. I'm pretty sure that all the Libert locations are sandals specialists..and the always have deals going on Anyways, all-inclusive is the way to go! can't beat it!

Re: Honeymoon ladies...need help
really thought i'd share my honeymoon experience because it was totally amazing, and UNIQUE. Not many people have been to those destinations on here.
Intitally i wanted to do bora bora or the maldives... but FH somehow convinced me not too..so we ended up doing Hong Kong Bali, Indonesia Malaysia Phuket Island, Thailand
I spent 5 days in each place, and had the msot fun in Bali, Hong Kong, and Phuket. Malaysia had the greatest food, but not many tourist sites etc. Hong kong and Malaysia were more touristy places with sites to see, hustle and bustle of NYC. While Bali and Phuket were overly serene and relaxing.
I had the most AMAZING time in BALI. I cant even explain how beautiful the culture, ocean water, beaches and hospitable the people are. Bali is a small island of the coast of Indonesia. We stayed at the Jamahal Resort and Spa in Jimbaran Bay. Totally Private, GORGEOUS villas. 5 star treatment.... Here is the website: http://www.jamahal.net/ I do have a few pictures of the private pool/day bed in my album. Here is the resorts website Jamahal I really just thought they deserve credit! and anyone itnerested in a unique location should definately FM and look in to this under rated place.
In Phuket Island we stayed at Marina Phuket Resort Marina Phukets Website They have individual villa's. The jungle room and oceanview are the best. The resort is situated right on the beach, and again we had the time of our lives. This is also the location were the tsunami came, everything has been rebuilt since. You cant even really tell there was any devastation.
- Anyways, if anyone has any questions feel free to FM me. Im not writing about Hong Kong or Malaysia because those are not the #1 HM spots anyone thinks of. But Hong Kong was fun to shop in, they Built a Disney land there which was cute...
Good Luck honeymoon planning!! and definately do check out BALI as a destination.
we spent 10k thats cuz of airfare, hotels, and splurges....or maybe a lil over 10 k but it was worth it.

Tom Varghese. Many of us used him as our TA. He works for American Express Travel Services, so you get full service when you book with him. FM if you'd like his info. We found him great to work with and very patient.

Oops, sorry. Travel Tom is part of his email address, lol. His name is Tom Varghese and he works for Amex travel (but you don't need an Amex card to use him - we don't have one!). His email is [email protected] and he is really great!

Re: Honeymoon ladies...need help
We travelled around Egypt for 2 weeks. A little over a week sightseeing and then some time just relaxing in Sharm El Sheik on the Red Sea. It was AMAZING! Total cost was about 10K, but we had private guides everywhere we went, stayed at the Ritz (Sharm)/Four Seasons (Cairo), so it could deifnitely be done for less.

Re: Honeymoon ladies...need help
We did the Westin Resort in St. John - not too far from Caneel Bay where Jess stayed. It was beautiful!! We used Ellen at Liberty Travel in Levittown and were able to get 9 days for about $3.5K not including meals - I'd say we spent about $5K including all our food, drinks, souvenirs, excursions, etc. I highly, highly recommend St. John - either the Westin or Caneel Bay. It's the most beautiful relaxing island. I'd kill to be there right now!
Should note that this does not include airfare - we used frequent flier miles to pay for our plane tix. We decided it was better to fly coach for free than pay for first class even though we were tempted.

We went to Tahiti (Bora Bora only) and Australia (Sydney and Great Barrier Reef) and if I think about how much money we spent, I get sick to my stomach but it was amazing and a trip of a lifetime so I would highly recommend both locations

Re: Honeymoon ladies...need help
We went to Sandals Antigua. Wasn't happy with the resort and as a result have been turned off by Sandals. I wanted to go to Excellence Riviera Maya, but TA had talked to us about Sandals and DH got interested in that. We had gone to Excellence Punta Cana (when it was still Secrets/Excellence) and loved the experience. Definitely worth checking out this resort chain.
We are going to Aruba this summer, for a desintation wedding. Booked the Aruba Hyatt, with airfare on Jet Blue, coming in at $4.5K (we upgraded to ocean view and added travel insurance). I liked Aruba the first time, so looking forward to going back. forgot to add - this is for 10 days 9 nights.
