Anyone have any good recipes for hot italian sausage links? I feel like the only thing I know how to make with sausage is sausage and peppers. Any suggestions?

i agree, i love sausage in pasta. You can do a regular homemade sauce if you want. Dh does his own regular homemade sauce with sausage and pork or you can do sausage and meatballs, dh also throws in veal oxtail with the sausage and pork. Or you can do a garlic and oil sauce or butter wine sauce.

the veal oxtail is very good actually. DH LOVES oxtail and veal is good for sauce so he wanted to add that with the pork and sausage one day and tried it and it was awesome. Now he always uses it, the veal oxtail is different than the beef as far as size, its ALOT smaller. I like it alot

Re: Hot Italian Sausage
I have a really good cooking light recipe its soo good..and it makes so much that you will have left overs!
Ingredients 1 (1-pound) package uncooked ziti (short tube-shaped pasta) 1 pound hot turkey Italian sausage links 1 cup chopped onion 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 tablespoon tomato paste 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 2 (14.5-ounce) cans petite-diced tomatoes, undrained 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil Cooking spray 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded fresh mozzarella cheese 1 cup (4 ounces) grated fresh Parmesan cheese Preparation Preheat oven to 350°.
Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt and fat. Drain the pasta, and set aside.
Remove casings from sausage. Cook sausage, onion, and garlic in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until browned, stirring to crumble. Add the tomato paste, salt, pepper, and tomatoes, and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combine cooked pasta, sausage mixture, and basil. Place half of the pasta mixture in a 4-quart casserole coated with cooking spray. Top with half of mozzarella and half of Parmesan. Repeat layers. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until bubbly.

Re: Hot Italian Sausage
I made lasagna last night with hot italian sausage. I actually only used two links, took it out of the casings and sauteed it. Then I sauteed ground turkey meat with onions and garlic and then mixed it with the ground sausage.
I didn't want to do a lasagna with sausage only so I put turkey meat. Thought I would cut down the fat by doing that!
I used the no boil lasagna and the Bertolli Organic Tomato sauce. Ricotta cheese. It was DELICIOUS!!!

Re: Hot Italian Sausage
You can always remove the sausage from the casing and incorporate it into a meat loaf :) That's what I do sometimes.
Or into some meatballs. You don't have to just use it as 'sausage' in a dish.

This sounds interesting, lol. Im gonna have to try it.
JoJoe - I pretty much made that recipe, but no tomatoes since I didnt have any lol. I used chicken broth and white wine as the liquid. It turned out good. THe tomatoes prob would have made it taste better, lol.
