DH and I went on a trip to Cape Cod with some friends. On the eve of our first full day there, we went for a lovely dinner at the Wequassett Inn on Pleasant Bay. Nice table by the windows overlooking the bay and the lovely grounds. Lovely dinner and conversation. After dinner, the maitre'D came over to our table and lets us know that the chef had invited us to the outdoor patio for some after dinner drinks, in honor of our first visit to the inn. How nice. We walk onto the grounds towards the private patio area, there is a beautiful archway with a stone wall with votive candles all around. A lovely table set for four with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, more candles. We settle in, toast to our friendship when the maitre'D comes over to me with a covered tray and offers me some chocolates to go with the champagne. There nestled on a bed of rose petals is the box with the First thing I say to DH is 'What did you do ?' and start crying. He starts crying too and then eeks out 'Will you marry me ?' The rest is history.
Everyone know about the proposal, including my father. I never expected it because when we first started dating, Mike had told me that he was not the marrying kind of guy. I guess he changed.

Dave proposed to me at the Met game in Shea stadium... it was the most romantic moment !! it was a private proposal, we got there early and we were overlooking the new stadium being built .. it was a great place to do it!
AND.. the mets WON that day!!

i knew DH bought the ring and we had already booked the hall....so i knew it was coming.
he put the ring box inside a big easter egg and proposed on easter sunday 2005

on christmas eve he told me he had 'one more gift' and it was a book he had made out of construction paper. Each page had a line of a poem and a picture on it. The last page had no picture but it said 'and this is where i asked you to be my. . . . .'
the page before had ended with 'life' so i was like be my what? and i looked up and he was on one knee with the ring!
i had no idea it was coming but it was so nice bc he asked my dad the day before and since it was christmas all of the families were together so we could announce it to everyone!!

Your hubby is creative!
My husband put the ring in the refrigerator with a note my son wrote that said 'will you marry me?'
when I came home he asked me to grab some fresh garlic from the fridge.
I thought it was fake..
(he was supposed to propose to me at a blue's club we were going to that wknd.. but when he got the ring, he said he was too excited to wait)

Dh and I had been looking at rings etc but I wasnt really hooked on the idea of getting married ( I was divorced very young) I had found a ring I really liked but DH was going to colorado to visit his family for a week so I told him we would discuss it when he came back.....DH kept asking me if I was getting him from the airport alone or with the kids ...I had told him Id be alone but at the last minute the kids came.......Dh had planned to purpose once he got off the plane ( he took his mom and sis with him to buy the ring) but the kids were there so out went the idea of his ..no romantic dinner etc...we actually took the kids to get halloween costumes and to friendlys went to DH apartment watched a movie with the kids and went to bed...as we were laying in bed I told him it had been the most perfect day of my life and he reached over for my hand and asked if he could make it more perfect and then asked me to marry him....his original plan of the airport romantic dinner walk on the beach was awesome but it couldnt have been more perfect then it was!!

When we were in Paris a few years back we walked into a jewelry store, randomly, and DH asked me 'do you like that ring?' I was like omg ofcourse i like it...its gorgeous... who wouldnt...hes like can we see it...im like why lets go already, he's like i just want you to see it... im like ummm okay...so i tried it on fell in love with it and we left...that was that.
Fast foward over a year later to his bday in November. I bought airline tickets to London as his bday gift and he made dinner reservations at Gordon Ramsey's, a nice resturant at the Claridge's Hotel. We sat at a remote table all by ourseleves, im like can we ask the waiter if we can sit at another table, why are we so isolated? haha...hes like no lets just leave it, i like the privacy. Well after we ordered our food... with semi-tears in his eyes he just got on his knees and proposed to me...with the ring he made me try on Paris

I asked him. LOL I'm such an untraditional bride. LOL What happened was we were living together and I had a horrible nightmare. I woke up crying and he just comforted me. Then I realized I wanted to wake up with him every day for the rest of my life. So I asked him to marry me. LOL Silly I know. But I'm glad I asked!

My DH kind of 'flung' the box with the ring at me across the table at a restaurant and said,
'Please, don't make a scene. '
I opened the box, said 'Yes' and promptly asked him if this meant that I wasn't getting a regular Birthday present!

We had talked about getting married but I didn't htink a proposal would be coming until March 2007...Boy was I wrong!
On July 6, 2006 on our 7 YEAR!! Anniversary Dh took the day off to celebrate! He told be throw on some jeans and a t-shirt and my hiking boots!! I was like its 85 degrees out, whatever!!
So we took a LOOOoooong drive out to Montauk! WHen I say long I mean like the worse traffic of the year and it was a freakin Thursday Morning! DH was getting very antsy and kept making phone calls (later I found out we were like 2 hours late)
We got to the Bar-None ranch out in Montauk for horseback ride on the beach!! I rode as a little girl and in college some so I was excited. We actually had done this ride the year before and it was a blast!
We took a private horseback ride down to the beach. During the ride I keept looking back and poor DH was muttering to himself and looked awfully pale! I was starting to worry because he had been stressing a lot at work lately!
We got to the beach adn our guide asked us if we wanted to get off the horses and walk teh beach...............I said NO Poor DH!! THey finally convinced me to get off! Dh grabbed my hadn't and set the camera up to take a few pictures of us on the beach! THey he started talking about everything we had accomplished in the 7 years we were together! THis is when I started to panic, I had no idea what was going on!
He got down on one knee and proposed!!! I started laughing so hard and crying I fell over him and didn't even see my ring!
I had found a picture of a ring Tacori made like 5 years back, it was a limited edition vintage inspired ring! DH got the picture of the ring out of my secret box of goddies (he later applogized for that) and hunted down the ring!! I was in utter shock when I saw it was THE RING I had dreamed of forever!!!
WE had a great ride back and everyone congratulated us at teh barn (they were all in on it)
We had lunch at our favorite place LUNCH-Lobster roll and called our immediate family (They all knew about it DH had actually driven to CT the night before while I was at work and took my dad out to dinner to ask for his permission )
WE went back to our apartment and got dressed up he told me he was taking me out to diner!! LIttle did I know what I was in store for! WE took the train into the city where we were surprised by one of our closets friends (Best man and his wife one of my BM's ) and we had a FABULOUS 7 course tasting menu dinner at Martio Batali's restaraunt Babbo in the city! I can't tell you how many bottles of prosecco and wine we drank that night but dinner started at 8 pm and we left a little after 1am. We then went down to times square adn took a bunch of pictures and took the train back home!
It was the second best day of my life , after my wedding of course!!!
DH did an AMAZING JOB!!!

we were on vacation visiting his brother and family in illinois. and all week they kept going out at random times to 'the hardware store' apparently they were trying to fix cracks in the drive way and reseal it. so thursday was about 110 degrees and i was pretty cranky from watching my neice and nephew all day. me, dh, bil and sil went to dinner. then went down to the lake for a post dinner walk at sunset. well my prego sil 'had to use the bathroom again' leaving dh and i to walk alone. we walked up these huge rocks and just talked about how great things were with us and he was saying how much he loved me, couldnt imagine life with out me and was looking forward to growing old together. then he pulled away and got down on one knee 'sarah, i love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me?' after pulling myselft together and the yes, he told me that exactly 2 years from today will be july 21, 2007 and it will be a saturday and he thought that would be a good date......thats our story!

He tied the ring to the collar of a kitten he gave me as a surprise! I was so enamored with the kitty I didn't even notice the ring (I thought it was a bell on the collar) We joke that I got a ring and a baby at the same time.
