DH and I went on a trip to Cape Cod with some friends. On the eve of our first full day there, we went for a lovely dinner at the Wequassett Inn on Pleasant Bay. Nice table by the windows overlooking the bay and the lovely grounds. Lovely dinner and conversation. After dinner, the maitre'D came over to our table and lets us know that the chef had invited us to the outdoor patio for some after dinner drinks, in honor of our first visit to the inn. How nice. We walk onto the grounds towards the private patio area, there is a beautiful archway with a stone wall with votive candles all around. A lovely table set for four with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, more candles. We settle in, toast to our friendship when the maitre'D comes over to me with a covered tray and offers me some chocolates to go with the champagne. There nestled on a bed of rose petals is the box with the First thing I say to DH is 'What did you do ?' and start crying. He starts crying too and then eeks out 'Will you marry me ?' The rest is history.
Everyone know about the proposal, including my father. I never expected it because when we first started dating, Mike had told me that he was not the marrying kind of guy. I guess he changed.

Friday afternoon of Memorial Day Weekend 2006. We were in our bedroom, packing our bags to go out of town for the wedding of one of his friends in PA.
I'd been stressing out all week because I had no idea what to expect at the wedding (how fancy it would be, what should I wear, etc.).
So, I had turned around (away from him) and was going through my jewelry box trying to figure out what jewelry to wear to the wedding.
All of the sudden he has come around from his side of the bed, and is standing next to me, holding the little ring box, and says:
'How about this? If you still want to marry me .... '
I don't remember this part, but he says I just kept saying 'Really? Really? Really? Really?'
But I do remember, after a few minutes, I realized that he wasn't down on 1 knee. So I made him ask me again!
The ring was his Grandmothers, and we had the stone re-set when we got back from PA because it didn't fit and the setting wasn't really my style anyway.

We were at DH apartment sitting on the futon after having a romantic dinner of Micky D'S and he popped in a DVD he made of our pictures from Niagra Falls. I told him that I really didn't want to watch it again- didn't need to see it again because I lived it. He convinced me to just watch the end because he had changed it a little. It turned out that he had written a beautiful poem about us and then at the end wrote 'Will you marry me?'. It turned out that he went to my parents house that morning to ask for their permission. I still don't know what the poem says because I cry everytime I try to watch it. It makes me so happy.

Brian took me to South Beach for a long weekend and proposed while walking on the beach at sunset! When we got back to the room there were rose petals everywhere and champagne waiting for us! Earlier on in the day, he sent me for a massage, and a mani/pedi so he could arrange everything!
Whats funny is afterward we endded up going out to diinner with random people we met at the pool earlier on in the day! We still keep in contact with them

I love my proposal story!! DH and I work together and met at work about 8 years. We were just friends/co workers for a while then we started dating. So on Sept 1st, 2006, I get an email from my boss that she needs to have a one on one meeting with me at 4:00pm - on the friday before labor day when we're all usually out the door. During this time at work they were doing lay offs so I basically thought this was my little exit meeting. My boss (who I adore) avoided me all day cause she knew I would ask. So I start packing up my desk and all my personal items....call DH on how upset I am that I'm about to be laid off etc....4:00 comes and we get in the elevator to go up to the meeting and I walk in and DH is there, our son, both of our parents....and he had my sister on speakerphone because I was still griveing her moving out of state the month before. So my son (he's 2) comes over with the ring and DH is on one knee. So after I accepted, I smacked my boss!!! He really thought of everything and it was perfect. I did ask him what made him choose that day and this was my fav part.....Sept 1st is my parent's anniversay and they've been happily married for 29 years so he thought it would be good luch!
