Did you mail in everything? I'm a little hesitant to do that, but there doesn't appear to be a 'walk in' option like there was for the Social Security Department...

I'm abroad, so I'm not sure how it works when you're in the states...but they had a messenger service come pick it up and return all of my documents to me (of course at a fee... )
But do you work/live in Manhattan? There is a passport express kind of thing in the city... My passport expired and I needed a new one in a hurry and i went there to take care of it. In and out in an afternoon...

I mailed mine in about a month ago and am still waiting to get it back. It said to expect it to take 6 weeks so I'm not worried yet. I mailed everything in when I did my SS card and that worked out. I'm sure it will all come back.
