how did you know what pictures to use for your album??

was it really difficult to pick??

i dont know where to start, or what type of pictures to use??

should i use pictures of
cake, invitation, bo-k.......things lke that as well??
besides just US

and guessing i should use some 'getting ready ' photos?

I put a list of photo types to use awhile ago. Maybe I can find it.

Talk to your photographer. When I did my own, I used details for one full page because those details were crucuial to our wedding. most photographers and designers use detail shots for backgrounds but ask your guy/girl. They might just want you to choose the pics you love and if they need background pics they might choose em as far as what 'works' for the layout.

yea my photographer (which im soooo not happy about right now) just gave me a list of instructions..basically picking out pics that i want.. then he would choose the backround .

i just dont have any clue what type of pictures to pick!

Deaan I split my pictures up and grouped them:

Getting ready
With the bridal party girls at my house
Arriving at the church
The mass
Complete bridal party pics
Pics of Dh and I
Reception
Posed couple pics

After I made the groups I went through and picked out the ones I didn't like. Then after that i went through again and again and just kept narrowing it down.

It is easier to work in a small group then to take on 1,000 photos at once. this also helps you organize your album and have the pics in sequence. i hope this makes sense.

I sectioned my pictures off into different parts of the day, getting ready, on the way to the church, before the church, ceremony, pictures, reception->first dance, parent dances, cake cutting, etc.

I averaged off how many pictures in my album and put that many pictures from each section in-I got a traditional album tho so my choices were a little different

Thats the best way to do it. Once you have them groupd you will probably find you have LOTS of similar pics in each group so you need to weed those out. If there are some details you really like, like your dress, your CP's , whatever, you can let your photographer know that you would like to sue those as a background ansd they can work it in I am sure. Thats what I plan to do when I rework my album rather than doing one whole page of just details.

I did in my album and i have seen it in other brides album. Liek they do just one page with all the details on it. Depends on what you want it to look like and how many pics you have to work with.

In our DIY album I did the cake as the background, and then put the cake cutting pics on that page.

OMG... Jenn those pages are freakin beautful...

I did it in chronological order of my day and picked my favorites from there. Your photographer will then put them in the order that makes sense.

Mine was:

Getting ready
Invites/Flowers
Pics with my family
Pics with DH's family
Pre-Ceremony Pics
Ceremony
Favorite pics post ceremony
Entering Reception
First Dance
Toast pics
Me with dad
DH with mom
Cake cutting

I AM TOTALLY NOTEBOOKING THIS!!
