How did you MEET DH ??

I always like hearing the stories of how people met.....how did you meet your Husband ??

ok my story is similar in that my friend was dating one of dh's friends and one night i was suppossed to go on a blind date and it fell through so i just wanted to stay home but my friend kept buggin me to come out to play pool or lazer tag with her and her bf/bf's friends....so i gave in and got in the car to see dh in the front seat staring at me....started telling my friend a story and he kept getting into the conversation talking about the brady bunch movie and im like ummmmm could u not interupt im such a biaatch we went to quazar the lazer tag place in glen cove and i didnt wanna play and so he didnt either so we drove around talking, holding hands and looking longingly into each others eyes all night it was just weird how we didnt know each other from a hole in the wall but we were soooooooooooo comfortable just being together like as if we knew each other forever...we still think its weird

ETA btw my firend is not my friend anymore and dh's friend is not dh's friend anymore....thats why i truly believe PPL COME INTO UR LIFE FOR SPECIFIC REASONS

Believe it or not I had a friend named 'Destiny' who I went out to RVC with in Nov of 2001--she met DH that night and went out with him twice! Once he called her and I even spoke to him (I didn't really remember him, she put me on the phone bc he's Irish lol) It didnt last anyway and then me and Destiny lost touch.

Fast forward to May 2002 and I am out against my will at Paddy McGee's my friend says to me 'Look there are those irish guys!' and by the time I looked up DH was right beside me and hit me with the irish accent. We chatted away and then when I realized who he was I wasnt going to give him my number but he wasn't having it! We met up again that next weekend and we were pretty much inseperable that summer!

We worked together. I needed a date for the prom so I asked him to go as friends. By the time the prom came around we were together!

I still remember seeing him for the first time at work - I never thought that I would end up marrying him 7 years later!

DH and I met at Mulcahys!!!

It was during Out of the Weeds (when it was actually good)... my fake ID wasn't working for me that night, and he stayed outside to talk to me. (He's a friend's brother so it wasn't liek that weird creepy guy that comes up to you on line... haha)

We met in a pub in Ireland at a christening party. He worked with the baby’s dad and I am friends with the Baby’s mom. At the end of the night we ended up sitting at the same table singing Oasis songs because that’s what drunk people do. I didn’t actually get his name or number that night. After that I ran into him a few times and remembered him from the christening. After a few random meetings we finally set up a proper date. Oh and on our first date he conveniently lost his wallet but I still kept him.

I was living in SC at the time and came up to visit my family on a whim, in NY. My brother, sister and I went out to Flanigan's in Babylon that nite--and he was working with DH at the time at Macys. (They are both now cops!) He mentioned to my DH that he should come out---and he seriously was NOT tryign to set us up--just trying to have more ppl out.

My brother said at the club, 'hey talk to my friend, he came out by himself!' (Which it was the first time EVER that my DH did that) and I was like 'i'm not baby-sitting your friend!' and he says 'Don't be a biitch!' SO he introduced us, and it was like an instant connection....from that nite on 5 1/2 yrs ago, we've been together ever since! I moved back to NY 3 months later.

he played baseball, i played softball, for four years we were just friends (although we both totally had crushes on eachother, just never worked out)
a year after graduation I decided to go play professionally in Italy, after two months I was really homesick......after a game one night, my teammate's bf saw the back of my bag that said BC on it.....he hardly spoke english but managed to say that he knew someone else that went there....turns out Vinny was over in Italy too playing baseball, so my teammate was dating his teammate from two totally different cities!! (like 4 hours apart)
I wrote a little note for him to give to Vinny and three days later he suprised me at my game

the really weird part was that I was living in the Bronx at the time (when not in Italy) and needed a roomate, i was introduced to someone from my job and she just happened to be his best friend from high school!!! ( they are from Mass)

i think it was just meant be.....we didn't get it right the first time in college so someone helped us out

We were inseparable from the first date! We were married a little over two years later. I love to tell our story.

We met through my MatOH and his ex-g/f MatOH hired his ex and we became friends. She then introduced me to a mutual friend who brought me around the firehouse a lot and we met there.

Through an online personal ad. I hadn't met anyone in a long, long time, and it was getting depressing, so I put up a couple of personal ads. This was in November 2004. I chatted with a couple of guys, because I thought I'd try to get to know them a little before meeting them. However, when my DH sent me a message, he said the opposite, that he wanted to meet quickly and see if there was any connection, and not waste time chatting. I thought his pictures were really cute, so I forced myself to go meet him--he was the first guy I had met from a personal ad, so I really did have to force myself. I nearly turned back a couple of times, both in the car, and then when I got to the door of Borders (we met for coffee at the Borders in Bohemia.) But I went in, and met him, and our date for coffee turned into four hours of talking. As soon as we met, he felt like one of my old friends, and he told me later that he thought I was cool, and confident, and sexy. It was getting really late and so he walked me out to my car, when I suddenly realized he was going to kiss me! Except I didn't want our first kiss to be in a parking lot, so I turned my head and he got my cheek. We kissed on the next date. I knew I really, really liked him after that first date, and after the second, when we went to see Ocean's 12 a few days later, I realized I was very, very attracted to him. Third date...

The 'wedding' part of this story is that after our reception was over, we stopped at the Borders in Bohemia. I was still in my wedding gown and tiara, my husband in his suit. People kept asking us, 'did you get married today?' and we'd say, 'Why do you think that?' Someone took some pictures of us with DH's camera, but none of the pictures turned out very well. Oh well. We did get some books for the honeymoon! That was very, very fun. People look at you funny when you're wearing a wedding gown. But everyone thought it was very sweet that we came back to the place we met. We wouldn't have done it though if it hadn't been close to Timber Point.

believe it or not, online. my friend convinced me to put up a profile--- i was not meeting anyone in the more conventional way... i am the type of girl that drinks with the guys... not that one that the guy buys the drink for... if that makes sense!

so anyway, i put my profile up. on catholicsingles.com (I wanted someone with whom i shared core values with)... i see DH on there.... he barely had anything on his profile, but he seemed nice enough.... E-mailed him and we e-mailed back and forth for 2 months. We decided to finally meet after we realized how much we had in common. and then BAM! 6 months later we were engaged.

I met DH through my sister.....she was DYING to set us up except I had just graduated college and wanted nothing to do with dating....I had to figure out my life first (or so I thought, he ended up being my rock through all of that haha) SO after her going back and forth with the both of us....at my graduation party he just 'happened' to stop by with a guy I had known since high school (they were roomates but I didn't know it!) so two of my girls turned to me at one point and were like 'why don't you just go on date with him, he's adorable....' so finally to LITERALLY shut everyone up lol I said Yes.......the rest is history.....

At school. He was in a frat and I was in a sorority. Eventually we hooked up : )

DH and I went to school together Freshman year. We were on the same flag football team, but neither of us were available.
Sophomore year I transferred to a school 10 minutes away.
One evening I was invited back to my old school for a party. We had both recently become available and I don't think that either of us were really looking for a relationship.
In fact I distinctly remember the first words out of my mouth when I saw him again being 'Wow, I didn't realize you drove such a piece of $hit'
We got to talking and the rest is history

At the time DH was an EMT & I worked in the main hospital...he came to take one of my patients home. He was doing an interfacililty discharge. One of my co-workers went to his partner and got his ###.

About 20 mintues after he left my floor, my friend made me call him. I know......... How desparte am I?? He thought I was CRAZY. After a week of playing phone tag, we finally talked and then the Magic Began.
