I usually wear nice pants, a nice top and comfy flats. No need to dress to the nines, but I wouldn't go sloppy either!

Yeah, as long as they are nice jeans and you dress them up a bit I don't see why not!

Re: how do you dress
I personally like to get a little dressed when going to see a show in NYC. I'm not a fan of jeans at the theater but that's just my opinion.
I'd wear capris or nice pants or a dress/skirt.

Re: how do you dress
Depending upon what type of play you are going to see. I always dress nicer then casually nice. Usually a pretty dress or skirt. But if its like rock of ages or something more fun you can go casually nice. I dont believe in wearing jeans to something like that. I actually think thats what is so wrong with our generation. Its nice to dress up & look nice. Not look like a rag. I think the OOTers that dress up have it right & maybe we take things for granted living in NY. It should be treated as something formal. JMO.

I totally agree, I usually get kinda 'dressed' to go to a show/play. I have worn jeans (definitely dressy jeans with heels and a dressy top) but prefer a dress. I think it's nice to get dressed up and feel that a Broadway show kinda calls for it. You can wear jeans and dress casual anytime, why not dress up for a play? I think it's so much nicer to get dressed, personally.

ITA but I get dressy for EVERYTHING since I wear sweats/beige tights/ hoodies, and leotards for work.

Re: how do you dress
I dress up. I started going to plays in the 80s with my grandmother, back when NOBODY would even think to wear jeans to the theater. Sorry for anyone who does, but i have to say it really bothers me that people don't dress up for it anymore.

ITA w/ Vicki & Michelle. People have gotten really lackadaisical when it comes to dressing up to go out. I would never wear jeans to any event, but that's just the era I grew up in I guess.
