Are you scared, concerned. Is the question how old are you, a no, no??? If you are scared to say your age why is that??? Are you doing everything to keep yourself looking your best. How does the women in your family age???
I guess the reason I asked this question is b/c of how many people I see make the comment about turning 30 or 31 and how they feel or how they dread it...etc.
Let me hear you ladies

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
I will be 34 this June. I see the tinniest little lines forming under my eyes & they show more when I smile (crows feet?). I wanted to try something to correct this but I decided not to. Maybe I will though in 5 years from now?
I am happy with myself no matter what. John tells me however I age, he'll love me the way I am and he rather I age the way I will and do nothing about it?! Hmmm! Let's see. I get told I look 28 so I am happy!
My mom is 55 & she looks pretty good, there are some others her age look better skin wise & some worse, but I think she looks fine and I wouldn't mind looking like her when I turn her age.
As long as I am healthy & happy, to me, is all that matters.

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
Hummm. This is such an interesting question you have raised Shamma.
Am I scared to say how old I am? Absolutely not. I am 47 and proud of it. I would have to say that part of that comes from having people constantly tell me that I look more like 37. I have virtually no wrinkles and my skin still glows. Most days I don't bother with makeup (I am allergic to most eye makeup anyway).I take very good care of my skin and stay out of the sun as much as possible.
There are days (especially during the last 4 months) when I feel that my body is old (aches and pains). I do wish that I had taken better care of my body during the last 20 years. Here is a lesson for all of you younger ladies out there. Exercise! Exercise!Exercise! You don't have to spend every day at the gym. Ride a bike, take a walk, swim, just do something that keeps your body moving. You will thank yourself for it later in life
I hated turning 30(for no reason I later discovered), but I completely embraced life the year I turned 40 and for the last 7 years I have been having a blast! My son tells me I act like a little kid and I tell him Yes I do and Yes I always will. I may get older but I will never be old. Most days I still feel like I am about 20.
There should be no dread in getting older. Life gets better and better as you get older. Each day presents you with the opportunity to experience something new. Take advantage of that. Take the time to look around. Keep a journal. Go back to college. Learn a new language. Do something daring and different. Volunteer your time. Enjoy yourself and have fun with your life!!!

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
There was a time in my life where I couldn't wait to be older - to have finished school and to not have to study. I dreamed of working 9-5 and going home and doing nothing!! I dreamed of being married and having my first kid before I was 28.
As we know, life doesn't always go the way you plan. At times I wish I could turn back the clock and be 25 again. But at the tender age of 30, I have accomplished so much, and still have tons on my list to do. The only time I feel old is when I think about what I have left to accomplish and how time is going by so quickly.
I think that you will feel as young as you want to feel. I do believe it's all in your mind. I look like I could be 20 and my mom has said I will love that as I get older. My mom is 55 and looks like she's 35. I have nothing to worry about as I grow old. But I wonder how much of all my dreams I can accomplish before it's too late.

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
I am concerned about my age because I feel I am quickly getting to 30. I remembered looking forward to 18, 20, 21, and 25. Sometimes, I am still shocked that I am in my late 20s because I am still feel young. My biggest concern is keeping my body up. I realize it is becoming so much more difficcult to do that. I was sitting with my mom, aunts and cousin over the weekend, and I was telling them that when I started college I was 95 pounds, and I used to try and eat more to gain weight and I didn't. Now, I am trying to loose 10 and its like pulling teeth.
I'm turning 30 in December and have no problems with it...its just an age...but I've always looked younger than I am...but that is changing...
the things that I don't like... **its easier to gain weight and harder to lose **if you don't keep up exercise...you pay later **I forget things a little more than I used to
the only thing I can do is take the best care of myself that I can
DH says once you get to 30...you can stop counting...

I'm turning 24 in about 20 days and I am constantly told that I look younger, I drink my eight glass of water a day, use cream and eye cream, get enough sleep, wash my makeup off every night and tan occasionally.

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
I am not afriad of lookin older...just getting older if that makes any sense. Sometimes its actually hard to look younger than your age..depending on the makeup i wear and how I dress, sometimes people take me for 17!!!!!!!! I am 27, have been married for 6 months and within a year will start preparing for a baby and people look at me like im too young for any of that sometimes.
I mean, yes I take care of myself but i dont go overboard...it doesnt scare me that much as long as i have my health.

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
Sometimes I'm 'afraid' to get older, but for the most part I don't really think about it. There's a childish part to my personality that I don't think I will ever lose - good or not! When I turned 25 I started to a face and eye cream every night. I'm now 27 and don't really mind getting older. My mom and aunts all look fabulous for their age. I would consider myself beyond lucky if I could look like any of them!

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
It’s such a good question Shamma. Because it would be so easy to say 'I am only getting wiser', 'Age doesn’t affect me', 'I want to grow old gracefully', etc. But I must admit that more times than not I catch a glance of myself and think – wow – I am getting older! I can deal with all of it. The weight changes, the wrinkles, …the one thing I cannot handle is the grey hair. My hair started greying about 5 years ago, slowly….now it’s constantly needing to be touched up. I always prided myself on this jet black hair of mine – and now it’s a curse when those little $&*(W’s pop up to shine! HATE them. Nothing makes a woman look older in my book….
I am 31 and feel like I didn’t do very much yet. Of course everybody in my life would disagree, but I just feel that with a family in mind at some point soon – how am I going to fit it all in? It’s the realizing that you probably won’t be a rock star …that’s what I am not so cool about with getting older. Sounds immature when it’s written out like that, but that’s the feeling. I think I got really caught up with all these stories about how we are supposed to have our first child by this time, blah blah – it just seems to shorten all the options doesn’t it?

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
This is an interesting question to answer b/c it's my birthday today! I'm 28 today. And I've been thinking about age a lot. I really am not afraid to tell anyone how old I am.
In fact in the past year I'm actually looking forward to turning 30. At work, I'm one of the youngest employees. Often I feel like people don't respect my opinions or just humor me b/c they think I am so young. I feel like when I'm 30 or in my 30s people can't say anymore 'Oh you are so young, you have no idea..' blah blah blah. Hopefully I'll be treated more like an adult with intelligent opinions, etc. Not just some eager co-ed right out of college with lofty ideas and a positive outlook on the world, while the others have a more dismal view of life.
But on the flip side I do feel scared of the age from that standpoint of trying to have a baby. I want to have one before I'm 30 and we have been trying without success for over 5 months. So that's where I do feel some pressure about age.

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
Well, I was just talking about this to friends. At 27, I don't feel 'old' by any means, and right now I'm not to scared about turning 30 (40 might be different ). I'm also where I'd like to be at at this point, I finished my Master's, am married and having a baby. I wish I owned a house by now, but a co-op will do. I think in general I'm just amazed at how much I've changed in the last 10 years in terms of my behavior, choices, actions, etc. I guess it's called 'aturing'.
I think most strangers think I look like I'm in my early 20s or even younger. Now that I'm pg and my wedding ring doesn't fit, I sometimes wonder if people perceive me as a single 17 yo pregnant girl.
I've only found a couple of grey hairs in my life. I don't have any wrinkles, but I do see fine lines that I need to take care of
I'd say the 2 things I notice the most about the last 5 years or so, is that I put on weight much more quickly, and my energy is not as much as it used to be. I have to work that much harder at watching what I eat and disciplining myself to excercise. The women in my family tend to put on weight easily, but age very well.

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
I love reading what you ladies wrote. I guess I am blessed to have some good genes. I do not know what brings on age lines or crows feet but I do not have any and I just turned 30. I used to be afraid to tell others but it is all in how you feel, how you carry yourself. MY mom is 46 and looks great. When we are together people cannot believe I am her daughter, they say we look like sisters. I hope that is how I look when I get to her age. The women in my family look lovely and we were just talking about my aunt who is 49 and I was like, mom she looks great. I guess its how you act, feel and treat yourself. Hubby is 37 and will be 38 in May and when he goes to his son's school no on thinks he is his dad. Our son tell us all the time we act like big kids. I guess I will always be a kid at heart. THe only thing I fear about getting older is being weak and frail. That is why I must agree with exercise and taking care of yourself in your youth.

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
I was happy to turn 30 (this past December)! I do not fear getting older. I never really think about age. Sometimes when I think about my life, where I am and when children fit in and how many and start to do the numbers, I kind of get a little concerned - but it usually passes quick enough.
I am told I look a lot younger so I guess that is a big part of how I feel about age. (People think I am 17!!! I hate that. I hate when people don't believe my age.). As responsible and professional I can be - I am still a big kid at heart. AS far as my family, my mom (people think she is 30), aunts and grandmother all look great for their age. They are all pretty skinny, look and act young, and very strong women! Hopefully, I will continue in their paths!!!!
As far as keeping young and keeping my best, I guess I should be doing more - I'm relying too much on genetics! lol

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
Great question Shamma!!!
I'm about to turn 28 and still feel 18 - and I like to think I still look 18 too. I'm sure I'm kidding myself but they say you look as young as you feel!!!
This weekend, I was out with some old friends I've known since I was about 15. Almost all of us are married now and many have children, but we manage to still have just as much fun as when we were 16 - a little less wild but still a lot of fun!!
The big '30' - that doesn't bother me. I think the number scares me only because I still feel so young.
My DH said something wonderful to me this weekend - 'being married to you makes me feel like a newlywed always'. We've been married 3 years and he says he still feels too young to be doing many of the things we've done so far in our lives and that we're having so much fun doing all of it. The look on his face when he said it was priceless and really warmed my heart.

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
I will be 29 less than a month from now but I physically look like I'm in high school so that's a good thing. Yes, I feel scared and concerned about aging and growing old. There's so much I want to do before I die. Yes, I just recently bought some make-up and some skin care stuff to keep my skin looking at it best. The women in my family wear a lot of make-up and spend a lot of money there. They seem content with their face.

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
I feel pretty good about my age especially since I dont look it. I will be 24 in July and I get proofed all the time.
I think their was only one time I was a little uncomfortable about my age. FI and I were out and 2 times in the same day someone said to him oh your daughter is so pretty. What daughter???? Stupid people thought he was 32 and I was 17 and his daughter. The first time funny, the second time same day not funny. He will be 30 in June.
But I feel great and I love getting proofed

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
I always thought I'd hate aging but quite the contrary, I don't mind it at all. Physically, I do what I can to maintain myself. I try to work out regularaly and I 'try' to watch what I eat. I don't mind saying that I'm going to be 31 because I KNOW I look good for my age and I'm always mistaken for younger.
Vanity aside though, with age DOES come wisdom and I think that I've learned to appreciate life so much more than I did when I was in my 20s. It seems like this 3rd decade is such a turning point. I've let go of the mistakes and regrets of my 20s and I'm moving forward without looking back.
My 20s was all about 'finding myself' a lot of partying and thinking I knew everything. At 30, because most of my friends are also settled down, I naturally returned to the things in life that really matter: the friends that outlasted the changes in my life and most importantly, my family...as well as the prospect of having my own children. Life now feels so much more fulfilling. In my 20s it was like I never knew where I was going. Now it's like the path is lit for me.

Re: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGING??
Some days I can sit and watch a 90210 repeat and think 'Remember when.....' and I feel very nostaglic about the past 32 years of my life. But other days I think 'I am SOOOO glad that I am not in Junior High School anymore'
Turning 30 was very tramactic for me because a) I hated the relationship I was in and b)I was very unhappy where I was in my life. I think it all depends on where you are when the 'big ones' hit. I agree with Susan about with age comes wisdom. I am in a place now where I am happy and feel that my life is in a great place. I have learned a lot about myself and what makes me happy.
