Wow!! I am not the only one!!

Definitely not the only one-the only reason we will send them is b/c the people who did not bring a gift did actually speak to us and we knew they had money issues so it was ok by us b/c in their situation their presence was enough to thank them.

Otherwise, I wouldnt send a TY

So, me three to a certain extent

Kill them with kindness - send they a thank you card and just say thanks for coming to our wedding...thats it!!

honestly, and this is JMO
BUT
i didnt have a wedding party
i had my sister as matron of honor and DH's older brother as best man

if i DID have a wedding party, i would have told them NOT to give us a gift because being in the wedding is such a big expense

however, i would do as someone else said
send a thank you to them for being there and participating and sharing the day with you
but NO mention of a gift

I only sent thank-you's to the people that gave gifts. But then again everybody did. It is a personal decision. Do what feels right. I do not feel you should HAVE to sent a ty to a member of the wedding party. You gave them gifts to thank them all ready. What else do they need I would also consider the costs to the bp. Did it stretch them to much but they were to proud to tell you? Either way do what YOU think is right. All of us are different so we'll all have 'unique' suggestions. Good Luck
