This is kind of like the other post but a little different... I feel like I need to get into a better schedule more concentrated on me, not in the selfish sense, just a little quality time for me everyday. I think it would be more healthy mentally and spiritually. My question is how do you do that? I'm talking about coming home from work and totally relaxing, maybe a nice bubble bath or simple as a cup of tea and reading a book. Real quiet time. I work 11-7 and get home at 8pm. Sundays I take class ALL DAY so Sat. is all about food shopping/laundry/cleaning/other errands/family events(parties etc) In my situation, I feel like I work all day and when I come home everything is hectic as hell!! I start looking at bills and stressing, I start picking up around the house, cooking dinner(eventhough DH helps w/this one a lot!) Before I know it, it's practiacally midnight and I'm exhausted and finally fall into bed! I personally don't think this healthy. I feel that I don't sleep well at night b/c I'm wound up and I never really relax!! Any sugestions?

Re: how do you take care of yourself?
Once a week we have pizza night.I usually unwind after a crazy day with a nice cup of tea and my hubby by my side.

Re: how do you take care of yourself?
I take bubble baths 1-2X per week. I also make time for my friends, which is a huge part of taking care of myself. I enjoy watching ER, Scott hates it. It is an hour that I just sit back and enjoy. Also, my best friend and I go to her family's vacation house 1 or 2x per year; no husands, no kids, no nothing. We just read our books, watch a movie, enjoy some worry-free time. I used to go to a ceramic class every week, but she closed the shop. I decide that this spring I will begin to do that again. I miss it a lot. I do not need much 'alone' time. Some women need a lot more of it though.
I think if you take up a hobby it really helps you. You leave your house, met new people and do something that is just for you.
And I LOVE my nice cup of tea at night. Scott makes it for me. But that isn't alone time, as much as relaxing time.

I like to go to the gym, because it makes me feel good after. If Im having a bad day....I like to come home, take a hot shower, and open a beer and sit and relax

Re: how do you take care of yourself?
I come home, quickly clean up any mess I caused when getting ready in the morning, then pour a small glass of my favorite wine, get into comfy clothes, and relax in front of the TV or read for a 1/2 hour. I'm lucky, my DH loves to cook and does so while I'm relaxing. It's one less thing for me to do, but I have to do the dishes (it's only fair). He will do them every once in a while when I'm really stressed and he normally helps out anyway. You have to find what works for you. Bubble baths sound so relaxing, but I can't stand them since I get too ancy.

Re: how do you take care of yourself?
I try to schedule a mani/pedi at least every 2 weeks, and a massage and a facial every month.
If I've had a long or tiresome day at work, an 'order in' dinner and a good book make me forget my troubles.
