How do you word TY notes to non-gift givers? UPDATED at bottom

DH and I have decided to send TY notes to non-gift givers. For those of you who have, how did you word them? I have a lot of blank space on my card, but I can write big to take up more room

I won't be sending one.

But, if I was I would write one it would be something like

'thank you for coming to our wedding and celebrating such a joyous occasion with us. A gift would have been appreciated.'

Love the last line I'm on the fence about sending these TY cards out but DH really wants to (perhaps because he's NOT the one writing them? ). They were thanked for coming with the bottles of wine (per person) and wine stopper favor. I have to thank them again for NOT getting us a gift OR a card? With TY cards and an additional picture that DH and I paid for? Sorry, the PMS parade is riding through town. I'm writing these TY cards, but I'm not happy about it

I wouldn't send them a pic!!! I would get a plain thank you card and just write thank you for sharing our special day with us. We hope you had as good a time as we did. They don't deserve a pic and card!!

I wouldn't waste the postage on them. They have up to a year to give. If they give then, I would send them a thank you card.

This is exactly what we're doing! We have our cards with the picture insert and we had also ordered blank note cards with our names on the front from the printer when we ordered our invites. Non-gifters are getting those.

We have our regular TY card that has a pic printed directly onto it and then we were going to add a loose picture inserted on the inside.

Here's my question - what do you do if people compare their TY cards? It s&cks that one of our non-gifters is my MOH and another is one of our GM

all of our non gift givers were from OOT. so we thanked them for coming to NY for the wedding and said we hoped they enjoyed themselves. that's it

I haven't sent mine out yet...but just 'cause I'm lazy. The gift givers all got theirs...the non-gift givers will probably go out by next week and I will send them the same card because that day I was ecstatic to see them. I invited them so that they could share in our joy and DH was glad that they came (they were his family)...so I'll write 'thank you for sharing our wedding reception with us...it brought us joy to spend time with you'. Besides, we actually had no-shows, so we were happy for the stiffers because at least they didn't cost/waste our money.

I said something like 'Thank you for sharing our special day with us'

The other ones started out 'Thank you for your generous gift and for sharing....

I am an old-timer here too, married almost 13 years ago. We had one bounced check and the only ones who didn't give us money were our siblings (my dh's traveled and really didn't have the money anyway). I didn't mind that but the one who bounced the check gave $50 for 2 (the average was $100 then) and post-dated the check and then proceeded to tell us that they would make us a 'steak' dinner sometime. My dh's family is VERY impressed by steak (??!!-lol!). They NEVER called us over. I wouldn't want to go over to their house anyway-lol!

Well, the MOH and GM I would send with a pic, they had a lot of expenses with being in the wedding, so they should still get it. Anyone else, if they compare, maybe they'll get the hint and send you something and then send them a TY with the pic, otherwise too bad!!

Thank you for sharing our special day (you cheap $*&%!)

Just kidding - Just Thank you for sharing our special day

ETA: And we also sent them on plain cards, since we didn't have enough photo cards, and wanted to save one for ourselves!

I sent out cards to the non-gift-givers.

I just wrote Thank you for sharing our special day with us.

It was short and simple. I would have liked to say a lot more but I figured I should be nice.

I wrote something like your presence made our day a special one. Thank you for sharing our wedding with us, we hope that you had as much fun as we did. it was not exactly that -- but I remember using the word presence in it.

We didn't have many non-gift givers. I think maybe 2. However, these two people will not be receiving a Thank you from me. They should send me a thank you for coming to a free party.

Same here. I'm not wasting my time writing a note to people who didn't even have the decency to get us a card. I think thank you for sharing our special day is fine. IMO, there's no need to write a long note to those people.
