As in making sure you're at every party, get together etc....
I am sorta in a bind where vacation and an event coincide.

Re: How faithful are you to your inlaws?
depends which ones. DH's Dad's side are wonderful people, so I'd do everthing possible to be there for them.
DH's Mom's side are a bunch of scum bags, so I wouldn't move a hair cut appointment for them...

Re: How faithful are you to your inlaws?
well, mil and fil don't live far from us and are just good people in general. what helps is that they are understanding about stuff, but my mil says this: if the only time we see each other is b/c you're obligated on mother day, then we need to work on our relationship. meaning, they'd rather see us on a tuesday night for dinner b/c we want to see each other than b/c we have to on a holiday or whatever. but i love my il's. my mom lives 2 hours away, so if i need a mom, i call mine but see his.

We are usually at all the family gatherings...but if we were going on a vacation...family gatherings, depending on it's importance, comes 2nd!

We are just as faithful to both sets! My parents live closer, so it's easier to get together with them....but we do try to get out to see Tom's parents at least once a week

I would say very esp. considering we live 2,000 miles away and we try to make it back for all major events. But I love my in laws and hate to miss anything.

Pretty even, usually attend what we are invited too as long as we aren't doing something first

We try to go to everything for both sides, but Dh's family gets together pretty frequently & sometimes it is last minute, so we wouldn't change something like a vacation for that.
We mostly try & go if someone will be there who we don't see frequently. ( We have a few long distance cousins)

We are usually at every event - and my IL's they have a lot of events. But, if we are going on vacation, then we go on vacation.
My feeling is that we are at pretty much everything unless we are sick. They will understand if we are away.

We are pretty lucky because both sets of parents are pretty close so for the most part we are able to go to everything.

Re: How faithful are you to your inlaws?
We're usually at everything. It gets hard, my mother is much more laid back about celebrations, but we had our first weekend away (only 1 night in the hotel) since getting married the weekend of my MIL's birthday and we had to leave the hotel very early in the morning to be back in time for dinner...But we are there for most every occasion, dog's birthdays, etc...It's more difficult to decide how we divide the major holidays since our families do not live near enough to easily visit both in one day.
