I saw an artical on people.com about Sarah palins son leaving for Iraq. Then it goes on to say where he is believed to be going and what his job will be. Isn't that like not smart to release? because what if someone finds a way to use that info or terrorists go after him or something? I uinderstand freedom of press and all, but when at war shouldn't certain information about peoples locations not be mentioned in tabloids???
its not actually after she gave her first speech at the RNC a few people on LIF were saying it is actually against the law to reveal dates and locations for the military SO i dont know how it happens so often
my guess is, they probably dont know where they are really going themselves until they get there - i bet they release false info for such high profile members of the military.

Re: How is this safe??
well I know with my SIL, shes in the army and so is her husband, theres a go between that my MIL speaks to, when SIL takes flights. They give MIL basically false information, so she never truly knows where she is at. So I think she may be revealing the information shes getting, but its not official yet. It seems nothing is official in the army until its happening, when it comes to travel, leave dates etc.
and I may be completely wrong with her son, but thats how things work with SIL
