How is your dh with money?

Is anyone else's husband absolutely horrible with money matter?? By that I mean not saving enough, and spending too much??!

My husband is so bad with this and it takes a toll on me and on us! He drives me nuts. He just has no concept of money. And the thing that gets me is that he works sooooooooo hard, always works over time, loves his job (local 3 electrician) so wouldnt he value his money???

Anyone else's dh like this?!?! And hes insane with the atm card...he drives me up a wall!!!!!!

my FH is insanely good with money... tracks every dollar he spends with Quicken and can tell you how much he spent on taxi cabs from May-November 1997. Wish some of it would rub off on me!

Patrick is the 'money man' in this family,and I'm the spender. We balance each other well.

Sorry - can't help you...my DH is also an obsessive saver! It is a good thing (most of the time!). We are both pretty much savers and try to be very practical with our spending.

If it wasnt for my hubby we would never have been able to pay off our debt in short a little time. He is very anal with money, not cheap but watches every dime

Well, I have to say that he's gotten a whole lot better about it since we got engaged and married. I am the Money Lady in our relationship, and he's fine with that. He's a better saver now than he's ever been!

MY DH is horrible with money.

No way. He is very conservative with his spending.

He's much better handling finances then me but he's somewhere in between being a good saver and a good spender.

I'm floating in that boat right along with you. I'm the saver and he is an expert in the art of making money disappear. He has gotten better over the years but he is who he is and he'll never become a saver. Just be grateful that he has you to keep him in line.

my husband is very good with money and we definitely keep eachother in the loop when we are going to spend a significant amount of $$ on something.

I'm the same as Jenn - he's the saver and I'm the spender! Together we're a perfect balance. If it wasn't for him a house would be a much farther off reality for us

Noreen, my husband is terrible with money, too. I can't stand how often he goes to the atm machine We sidestepped what I am sure would have been endless fights by keeping two checking accounts. Both of our names are on them and technichally we each have access to both, but he keeps his hands off of 'mine'! Each time he gets paid I transfer most of it to 'mine' to pay all of our bills and tuck some money away. I take the same amount out of each check. Then whatever he does, I don't want to know! I don't care if he goes to the atm machine every day until its gone. He knows that is his money to play with and he stays within that amount.

I would drive myself crazy trying to balance our check book if I had to figure out how often he was taking money out.

He is a saver and I'm the spender but I'm the one who does all the bills. We have money in two banks so when he needs to take out money he doesn't know what bank to use. I take out money every Monday and he takes what he needs fo rthe week.

His parents drove it inn their kids head that they need to save money and not to spend it on frivilous things. My parents never taught me about money so I wasn't the best saver until I met my husband. I still like to spend but now I think twice before I do.
