How long did it take...

to write out your thank you cards? We just got ours today from shutterfly and while I love the cards, i'm soooo not looking forward to all that writing. I think DH expects me to write most of them...but he's in for a rude awakening..lol.

Unless he has EXCELLENT handwrting (most boys dont-sad but true. My DH likes to write all in CAPS) do them yourself; that way you won't have to redo them lol. Follow a basic forumla. This is what we used and I got em done in 2 days.

Dear(Insert names),
Thank you so much for your genereous gift, though your presence in our lives and especially on this important day in our lives is an even dearer one to us.

Our (name the gift is if its a thing like a coffeepot) will look great in our (insert place) and we cannot wait to (make a funny quip about the gift and what you plan to use it for. If you got cash, you can say what you plan to use it for) caffeinate ourselves. You have definetly helped make this home a HAPPY one especially in the mornings! :)

Thank you again. Takre car!

Love,

The Newlyweds (Pete & JEnn)

That way you're not wracking your brains on what to say for most of them, but they are individual because of the gift. People really enjoyed our thank you cards we heard so I'm sharing. GL!

I did most of them in a day but I have a few more to finish and then all the envelopes to address - hoping this weekend they will hit the mail box!!

This is such a great idea! Thanks so much! (And maybe I should write them all, considering his handwriting looks like a five year old! haha)

We did ours over three nights. I wrote them out and DH sealed, put labels on & stamped.

I'm also no help since I haven't done mine yet either! I like the sample Jenn posted since it works well for any physical gifts. For us, we didn't get any physical gifts at all for the wedding, so I'd have to tweak that! Oh yeah, and translate it into spanish since more than half of our guests are mostly spanish speakers!

I have had my TY's for 2 weeks and haven't done a thing! Not looking forward to it, but next week is THE week!

We got mostly cash so I just said 'Thank you for your genereous gift. We're hoping to put it towards a new kitchen table so we can prtened to be civilized!'

Thanks again.'

Re: How long did it take...

I've recieved TY's from some brides long after the wedding....so i think it's fine to take your time with it.
I had about 90 and finished them in two nights. But I am a little OCD sometimes and hate starting something and not finishing.....so i was a psycho writer and had a sore arm after.
