In a perfect world (which it isnt so we shall see)
I work the NYC Dept of ed. and one of the great benefits is that I have the right to take child care leave and walk right back into my position any time up until my child enters kindergarden (unpaid of course). I would ideally love to stay home until then or pre-k...but I am not pregnant yet and dont plan on it for probaly 3 more years.....I know that many things can change between now and then so this is my tentative answer![]()

I plan on staying home until 1st grade, then maybe going back to work part-time only pending financial situation. DH agrees!

unfortunately i have to do the same...we dont have enough money for me to be able to stay home longer then what i get paid for
Because im a teacher I am attempting to plan it right (try to get as close as i can-hoping that i dont have problems ttc) where i get my time off plus whatever sick days in my bank that i can use and it be close to the summer so that i will have the whole summer off with my child also

about three months. i dont have maternity leave, i have to use my sick and vacation leave. I also dont want to go down to a zero balance bc I dont want to wait forever for a second

I definitely do not want my kids in a daycare all day long. I used to work at one, so I know what goes down and I really want to be able raise to my OWN children. I plan to stay home until they're all in school (kindergarten). If i need to work though, it will only be part time, or I'll be setting my house up as a home daycare, that way I'm with my own children, as well as babysitting a few others. You get paid pretty darn good for that too - my mother did it for a couple years when I was in Elementary School.

That's a little harsh..... most of 'those people' HAVE to work to support their families.
