How long does my wedding cake need to defrost?

I am hoping to have my wedding cake within the next week. Should I defrost it in the refrigerator or outside of the refrigerator and how long does it need? I know there was a post recently about eating the cake after a year, but I dont remember if anyone shared how long it took to defrost. Thanks!

Re: How long does my wedding cake need to defrost?

You can put it in the frig that morning, and it should be defrosted by the time you come home. Then maybe take it out of the frig to come to room temperature so it's not so cold.

I put mine in the fridge the night before our anniversary, and then as soon as I started to prepare dinner (about 2 and 1/2 hours prior to eating), I took it out of the fridge and let it come to room temp.
