What's the appropriate amount of time to have your thank you's out by?

I'd say by six months.

My guests received them at two months.

I am definately not the norm but my guests had them prior to 2 months!

I would say anywhere around 4-6 months. I got mine out in just under 4.

I would say 6 months is typical. Due to extenuating circumstances (moving out of state prior to receiving proofs and the drama of doing everything long distance) ours were out at just around the 5 month mark.

Edited to say- I think 6 months with a picture is fstill kind of a stretch. No picture...definitely shorter. And for those who run past the 6 month mark...well, I definitely think it's better to send them out 'late' than never!

I got mine out this weekend, but I didn't have the actual cards til the end of April and I got married in February.

I *believe* the 'ettiqutte says you have a year ,but in this day in age you never see that anymore.

I agree that you should try to finish them in under 6 months. I finished mine under 4 months and I already had my mom and MIL questioning what was taking so long!

half of mine are completed - and its been less than 2 months..
i will have them completed by 2 month mark

the norm is about 4-6 months

I definitely want to get them out early, but I'm not sure how long it would take with the picture ones. We also delayed our honeymoon, we'll be back from it a little over a month from the wedding date.

I agree. I'm going to shoot for the three month mark. That would be ideal.
