How many no-shows did you have?
I had a ton. Around 20!! It was absurd and very rude, I thought. But it was mostly from my Dad's side and it was half-expected (but not THAT many!)...This isn't a normal amount of no-shows, is it??
Now... my cousin (from my Dad's side) is getting married this weekend. I already sorta RSVP'd yes but I'm very tempted to be a no-show for several reasons:
1. she was a no-show at mine
2. 4 people from her household were no-shows at my wedding
3. I have a strong feeling that I am going to see at HER wedding many of the people that were no-shows at MY wedding... and that will really piss me off. The reason I think this is that she is getting married at a 'less fancy' place than I did (in my Dad's family's opinion) so they don't feel like they have to get 'as dressed up' or give as generous a gift (ridiculous, I know). I didn't care what they wore or what they gave as a gift -- I just wanted them to be there and it will upset me to see them show for her wedding when they didn't show for mine!
So... would it be SO wrong of me to be a no-show at HER wedding?? She DID come to my shower and gave a gift, so can I get away with just sending her a gift right (which I was gonna do anyway)? I didn't attend her shower.

Re: How many no-shows did you have?
Wait, did they rsvp 'no' or did they rsvp 'yes' and not come. If they rsvp'd 'yes' and didn't come, I kind of think 20 is a lot..Fortunately, all of my guests who said they were coming, came!! But, I did get one person who didn't bring a gift..not even card!!
As far as people rsvping 'no', I got a lot of those..I don't really remember the count.
Re: not going to your cousins wedding, I would probably just call with a last minute reason for not going...that's if you feel like being nice.. If you are really annoyed at them, I would just ditch the wedding.

Re: How many no-shows did you have?
We had 4. 2 of them had emergencies that could not have been avoided. We found out about them the same day by their spouse and their coworkers. The other two claimed that one of them had called me a week before the wedding but I never got a message from them. A day after the wedding I checked my email and found that one of the friends emailed me the night before saying their was a family emergency and they could not attend.

Re: How many no-shows did you have?
We had 8 people RSVP yes and not show up. One couple (cousins of mine) and my ILs friend did send us gifts. One guest (DH's cousin) came but his wife did not come and they RSVPed for 2. At least he came. The other people did not send a gift or a reason why they could not come.

Re: How many no-shows did you have?
Of the twenty people they all RSVP'd YES and just didn't show. Of those 20 about 5 called or left a message with a last minute excuse as to why they wouldn't be able to make it.

Re: How many no-shows did you have?
we had 8 respond yes and then not show. I would stay home and send a gift. if the same people are there that were at your wedding, they sound like the kind of people who are going to compare weddings, and out of jelousy down play yours.

Re: How many no-shows did you have?
i think i only had one. My cousin. She decided not to come last minute because she didn't want to be the only 'kid' with my aunts and grandma. I was pretty annoyed with her. that meant NONE of my cousins on my moms side were there.

Re: How many no-shows did you have?
Just 1. We only had about 85 people at the weddign though.THis friend of DH claimed to be sick & told a friend of ours that morning who told me in the receiveing line, and the the no show called that same friend during the reception, so he could pass the cell phone to DH to say hello & congrats.
Haven't heard from him since, but he isn't the most reliable friend.

Re: How many no-shows did you have?
I had 3 no shows. Two friends and one cousin. I guess that is not too bad. We had 170 people that attended the wedding though.

Re: How many no-shows did you have?
We had 2 no-shows, but we also had some last minute cancelations that we got stuck paying for. My cousin's wife called 2 days before the wedding and said that her husband wasn't able to get off work so he wasn't coming. DH invited 2 brothers and their dates and their uncle died the day before our wedding, so we lost 4. The 2 no-shows were DH's friends who replied with a date and didn't show up with one.
