I have a two part question, how many pages were in your album and did you go over the amount you had contracted (and by how much)?

We had 48 pics in our contract and ended up with 112 in our album!!! It was crazy, but in the end all you have are your pictures, so DH and I thought it was worth it.

SO now I have a question.. A lot of my proofs were far way so when I go to bring them in this week, should I scan them to show what I want or leave little notes on each photo.. I do not want to have to go through this a couple of times but if the albums come back not right, I will probably flip out.. What do you ladies think I should do?

I have the same thing - there are a few things I want edited out - like a stray hair or a glass. There are also a few that are so far away. When I make my appointment i am going to go over every single photo with them in detail.

I actually sat down with the layout person and we went through each picture and made notes. We changed some colored to B&W and some of the B&W's to color, moved stray hairs, cropped, zoomed, etc. Your photographer should be willing to do whatever you want.

only 24 pages, but they are hand done and have one to two pictures per page. an extra page is $45 a side so we did not go over our limit!

we contracted for 40 pages, and I wound up with about 30 which gave us 10 free composite pages...except that I have 17 composites about so we still went over.

We contracted for 30 pages and are going to try to stick to 30. We meet with Duet this week. It is hard for me to pay the extra $25 per page because we get to keep our proofs anyway.

The contract said 24 or 30, depending on size, we went for the 30. We actually were able to narrow it down, since we get to keep our proofs and are going to make an 'informal' album on our own

We didn't have a contract for the pictures, so we had to pay per picture, per page. We have 50 pages, including the invitation. The photo lab where our photographer works, gave us a really good price of $10.00 per page. Dh is very good friends w/ the owner of the shop, so he cut us a good deal. It still comes out to $800ish or $900ish. He couldn't cut us a deal on the album unfortunately, that was the expensive part.
