We did, by his brother sister and a friend who gave us this thing that we cant figure out what it is

We had a few people come to our reception and give nothing,not even a card.
We received a couple of weird gifts from people too like fancy ash trays.(Neither one of us smoke.)

People are freaking weird, I dont even go with the not even a card theory.

If you cant give a gift stay your arse at home. Im sorry I know that its not about the gifts but I cant help myself sometimes

We just wrote 'Thank you for being with us on our wedding day.'
They should have actually sent us a thank you.

I was really surprised how rude people can be.
I was shocked that people didn't even spend $2.oo on a card!

We also had people not show up after they said they were coming and we had to pay for them.
They never called to apologize or sent a gift.

ahh bs. What the heck. I enjoyed every minute of our wedding but I am glad it is all behind me.

I think I aged with all the stress

We had one guest give a money card with no gift inside. She was so sorry when she found out and said she would send the gift asap. Well it's been 5 months and still no gift. Oh well. Some people just totally forget things if they don't do it right away.

We had two couples not give a gift. One couple just sent us a wine rack with a case of wine to go with it last week (10 months after our wedding). She had said she was sending a gift, but we didnt get one until now. I really think she sent it because my husband dropped everything a few weeks ago to do some ridiculous favor for them.

besides the people who replied yes, but didn't show (none of them gave us a gift), we have received gifts from everyone (some a little later) but my classless 2nd cousin...at his own wedding he put in a fake gene simmons tongue when the minister said to kiss the bride...so I know I will never see anything from them...

oh GOD yes. I cannot even get into it.....it drives me nuts! By people that cancelled TWO days BEFORE!

We got stiffed by DH's boss (how friggin RUDE, not even a card), by a cousin, and so far, a friend who bounced a check and knows about it still hasn't replaced it.

Not to mention my saga with another distant cousin who responded no, then showed up to the ceremony and cocktail hour to eat, drink, and not did not congratulate us at all, but came to introduce everyone to her new husband. Bi***.

But, even in the crappy rain, we had zero no-shows.

We had quite a bit that cancelled a few days before and some no shows. It seems this goes on all the time. It is terrible that people think that it doesnt matter when they decide last minute that something better came up. I went to a wedding in April sick as a dog because I would never want anyone to do that to me.

Actually we were very lucky. We had no no shows and everyone gave a gift. We did get one bounced check though and we trying to figure out who's it was. We need to call the bank. I will say though that some people are VERY cheap!!!!

If I had known....if she even had the class to come wish us well!!

But my poor MIL had to see her, and got so nervous when she saw her and told her she'd have to make arrangements for seats...the biatch responded 'no, I'm just here to introduce everyone to so and so'....right to her face, with a plate of fettucini and a screwdriver in her hand.

I vented about this on a post, I'm still so ****ed off about it I feel like sending her a thank you card saying 'congrats on your marriage, maybe next time you can have YOUR OWN WEDDING'.
