How much do you and DH have in an emergency/savings fund, especially if you own a house or plan on owning a house in the near future?
I am afraid we don't have enough in savings to take a big step like buying a house....it makes me nervous.

We used to have alot more but not since owning our house. I give alot of credit to people that continue to save and pay a mortgage in NY. Its so hard

not much as I own a house and owning costs money, if it is not repairs its a months rent for a vacant apt. S ucks! But we are trying to save to buy a house for us.

With the amount I had saved combined with what I was recieving for unemployment I would've been able to keep the co-op operating until about June if I was still unemployed.
Now that I'm emplyed again we're trying to build up our savings.
