How Often do you or your DH cook dinner?

Just curious - I would like to cook more than I do, we order out alot or go out.

I get home too late, and my DH doesn't come home from work till fridays sometimes.
About once a week on the weekends we cook.

We always cook on Sundays but during the week it's tough we both don't get home till after 7. Our dinner during the week is usually salad w/grilled chicken or salad and soup.

I cook Mon-Thursday and I really like it! Friday we usually order in; Sat night we go out to dinner usually, or DH cooks me dinner Sat night!

I make a lot of chicken, pork, and pasta. And my turkey chili and meatloaf!

I would say on average about 5-6 times a week. Not necessarily anything fancy....but we only go out about once a week and rarely ever order in.

ALthough, I think it does depend on if you consider leftovers 'cooking'

i cook a good 5-6 times a week...if we become lazy (me cause she rarely cooks these days), we have like tv style dinners ready to go or somthing simple to make that requires less then 5 mins.

I think we cook dinner about 4 times a week. I do a late yoga class once a week which means no real dinner, and then we eat out about once a week and order the other day.


I have the exact life as you- it was bizarre reading this! I cook dinner about 4 nights a week, and DH gets take out the night I have my late yoga class.

I do a late yoga class, too, once a week! I forgot about that! Last night we had wonton soup from the Chinese place!

I try and cook on the night Im not working so 4 out of 7, last week we had take out all week. But for the most part I like to cook yummy stff and DH is like so test animal, I try everything out on him.

At least 3x a week, but we do take out a lot and eat out, especially on the weekends

DH cooks 3-4 days a week, I cook maybe 1

rest is take out or eating out!

with each of us having 2 jobs it's tough. I love to cook and bake but I don't think we cooked once in the lat two weeks. It's been pretty hectic.

He works locally but I work in the city and don't get home until at least 7:30. He wanted to cook tonight. hmmm...maybe I'll let him.

I cook 4 nights a week, Fridays we always go out. Saturday is usually at IL's or 'floating' depends if we're out or meeting up with friends. Sunday is ALWAYS at my moms.. the whole block smells of cooking from nona's house My DH actually wakes up all happy just thinking of all the goodies my mom makes (his can't cook for shitt ) he's a 'food-a=holic'.

I used to cook 4 or 5 days a week but ever since DH started working nights, I only cook 2-3 days a week. I actually miss cooking.

I just had to add our weekly dinners to this thread

DH and I cooked 6 times this week! we cooked Sunday through tonight

yea we saved some money, but never again! too much work

We (I should say I!) cook 5-6 a week. Tuesday nights are always IL's house, and sometimes we order out - but rarely, we're poor.

But we have those big meals every night. You know: salad, protein, a startch and a vegetable with a pretty set table and everything. (Alright - last night we did a taco bar thingie in front of the tv!)

My friends think we're nuts.

a real, healthy balanced meal gets prepared about 3 times per week - I wish it was mnore becasue I really enjoy cooking, and DH sits in the kitchen and works as my prep cook, doing all the chopping and cleaning!

One night I'll defrost a California Pizza Kitchen Pie and make a salad, and one night we order out.

About once a week we have 'Free night' (something retained from my childhood) where you eat a hodgepodge of all the leftovers, or else just a bowl of cereal or a box of Mac and Cheese!

I cook dinner 5 or 6 nights a week. I love to cook and he loves my cooking.
It just gets hard when I try to come up with new and interesting meals.

You got me laughing with that one! We rotate. He would rather I cook. But I am finishing my MBA and working FT so I am tired. He finished school last year and loves to come home and relax. So I guess dinner has to walk itself up onto the table. We usually order out or go out and then relax with each other discussing the day's events when I am not bogged down pulling my hair out studying!

Not quite enough. Our schedules are pretty nuts too. I have late nights 3 days this week. So it will be smart ones for us!
