I talk to my mom maybe twice a month. We e-mail mostly and I only call her if it's absolutely necessary. My parents kinda get on my nerves. I know that's mean to say but it's true. Now that they're getting older though, I'm starting to worry about them so I'm trying really hard to be a little more communicative with them.

I've never been super-close with my parents, but things have gotten much better since I got married. My mom can be a bit controlling, but now that I'm officially a 'woman' she's finally letting go I think! At 34 years old, she's finally starting to treat me like an adult!

My real mother? I haven't spoken to verbally since 2000 and before that not since I was 11. Last communication was 9/13/2001

My father though.. I speak to often!

I would love to have that kind of relationship with my children.... I hope my kids want to speak with me everyday. But, I chose never. I only speak with my mother aboiut every 4 months or so. We just dont care for each other and are just too different to be in a room together, if that makes sense. But I think it is wonderful that so many people are so close with their mothers.

im not close with my mother. weve had our ups and downs... she gave us up to go live with my dad back when i was 12- there was 4 of us... never been the same since. I try to keep a civil relationship but she doesnt reciprocate. She decided not to come to my wedding- it would have been 'too much for her to handle' so she said... better off.
my dad is engaged to a wonderful woman i am proud to call a mother figure. she was wonderful and helped me out throughout my wedding planning. It was difficult not having a mother there to help me but she was amazing.

I usually talk to my mom everyday and if a day goes by that I do not talk to her, she calls and gets worried!

I just want to say that I think it is so great that so many of you are close with your moms. For those that arent (like myself, I know it is hard, but at least we are not alone!!!)

I speak to my mom just about every day...and then I see her at least 3 times a week.

I can't speak to her one on one because she passed away but sometimes I 'talk' to her when I'm stressed or upset...

I speak to my Mom almost everyday...
every now and then, we'll miss a day.

I'm getting in the Verizon IN plan..perhaps you guys can get that and all calls are FREE in the plan- no need to wait till after 9

Several times a day - we're very close - in both our relationship and geographically (she and my dad live 7 minutes from us).

I wouldn't change it for the world - especially when we start having kids. I've been told a first time mom needs HER mom close by for advice, help and SANITY :)
