How Pizzzzzzzed would you be if this happened to you ?

Ok I live in a Co-op and they have been doing work on the outside of our buildings( no notices or warnings) ! Well they started this project taking our cement block things off our window cills (sp?)and replacing them ! Well I live upstairs and yesterday I went in my room and pulled my pants down and there was a man at my window I was mortified !!! I ran into the bathroom to put my pants back on !! I am call the management office onMonday to complain b/c God forbid my 9 yr old was changing in there or if Dh and I were doing something

ETA: isnt it illegal ?Invasion of privacy?

I'd be pretty pissed too. I live in a co-op and they're constantly doing work and not telling us. But they do say the best part of getting up is seeing a strange man in your window or maybe that's folgers in your cup, who knows?

oh no that is horrible

i would've freaked out too. They definitely should've told you that they were going to do this and what time.

I hate when they don't inform people. One time the people upstairs were doing work and some of it had to be done on the outside of the building. It was a nice day out and i had my windows open. All of a sudden I noticed this gray residue ALL over my bedroom, it was like saw dust or something and there was a very thick film of it on ALL my dressers, it will all over my carpet. I was so pissed, bc it was very hard to take out and not only that but i had to clean for hours to get it all out. That also scratches furniture so it was just a bit mess. We went to tell the super and even he was mad bc the people upstairs didn't tell anyone. We then went to tell the people upstairs and they said 'oops sorry we forgot' BUT then it happened again the next day and they still didn't tell us ahead of time so we can at least close our windows i hate the people above us

some people just really do not care. When we moved in we completely renovated the bathroom. Not long after we noticed a water bubble forming on the ceiling. We went upstairs to tell the same people that they must have a leak or something and its ruining our ceilings. The super came too and checked it out, they had an old shower head that even when they shut off the water , some water would still drip from it and they would face it towards the wall for some reason. When we told them, their answer was 'well we love this shower head so we cant change it, we dont want a new one' i told them well then i'll give them the bill for us to fix the bathroom, yeah funny bc thats what made them change their mind. The super ended up fixing it though since it was the buildings fault

I would definitely complain if i were you, what if it was your daughter. As an adult we handle things differently but a young child like that can really get freaked out. They need to learn to inform people

That really is insane. There should have been some notice! I have to tell you that I am not shocked that has happened a few times at my sisters condo. There were these men working on the windows and they weren't suppose to do that section until another week. Also when I was renting in this temporary condo (before my tenants moved out long story) we received this notice that they were going to be checking the outlets in the kitchen on such and such date. However something happened with the time variances and all of a sudden I hear a knock on my door. Not giving me enough time I go to see who is at the door in my T-Shirt and underwear and there is the Building Mgr. and the maintance man already in my kitchen. I was pissed and embarrassed. What if I had a vicious dog they didn't even give me a second to answer the door.

Gotta love co-ops and their noticess.. Some times you wonder why do we have a Board and management if they don't communicate to us?? We live in a co-op also and well last year on our wedding day.. DH gets a knock on our door from Verizon and they say .. we're here to install the new Fios converter, because the complex is going to be Fios compatable. DH was like, I'm getting married today and all my GM will be here in like an hour, you better make it quick, because I can not be late for my wedding. I would have told the guy, get LOST!! Gotta love Co-ops...
