How Soon After the Wedding...

Did you and DH eat the top tier of the wedding cake?

We ate it the next day. The wedding was in NY, we live in NC, and we were going to VA for several days before we went home. I was happy to have the cake fresh instead of a year old. For our 1 year anniversary, we'll get a new cake, I suppose.

Anyone else as 'bad' as us?

We ate a bit every week. By our one month anniversary it was all gone!

We ate it after a month or so It took up so much room in our freezer and we needed the space. We decided we will have the same bakery make us another cake (smaller than our wedding cake but the same flavors and design) next year on our anniversary.

we ate ours the first week too. we wanted to enjoy it while it was still fresh.

we took home the top tier, so we ate a piece the night after the wedding, then some more when we got back from the HM, and then some more a few days later until there was a good size piece left. That we're going to save for the 1 yr anniversary!

We ate 1/2 at our one month anniversary and waiting until our 1 year and going to eat the rest! I'm kind of scared!

See, I was also afraid of year old cake (we have ended up freezing sweet breads in our freezer for a year and they were inedible). The fact that it was pretty inconvenient to bring it with us made us make up our mind to be big piggies about it!

Its been almost 7 months and we are still saving it for our one year. Although I still want to order a fresh cake for the one year just in case the frozen one is gross

We saved our small cutting cake for our one year anniversary but ate all the left over cupcakes for about two weeks after the wedding.

I will probably have our bakery make a new cake for us - not so sure how good the frozen one will be.

we were in the same OOT situation and we didnt even take the top layer with us. Oh well! my parents didnt have room in their freezer and we didn't really want to worry about it.

we havent touched it, its been in the freezer since the night of the wedding(IL's took it from the RH) we're saving it for 1 year anniversary.

Since we barely got to eat any at the reception....we ate some the next day but froze the rest....

unfortunately I read so many horror stories about how it tastes after a year we unthawed it and tried to eat it on our two month anniversary....tasted like freezer burn...threw it out.

We're just gonna buy one from the bakery on our anniversary.
