Did you and DH eat the top tier of the wedding cake?
We ate it the next day. The wedding was in NY, we live in NC, and we were going to VA for several days before we went home. I was happy to have the cake fresh instead of a year old. For our 1 year anniversary, we'll get a new cake, I suppose.
Anyone else as 'bad' as us?

We ate it within the week. Our cake guy is making us a replica of the top for nothing for our 1 year anniversary.

Re: How Soon After the Wedding...
we ate it as soon as we got back from the honeymoon. it would be a waste of good cake if we waited for the 1 year. yuck. it was too delicious.

We don't have ours. One of the waiters who was helping pack everything up dropped it! But we were planning on eating it the next day anyway at the brunch my mom held. We are planning on having our bakery make a smaller version of the cake for the 1 yr anniversary. My MIL though evidently had the RH wrap some cake up for her and she ate it over the course of the month after the wedding and she said it tasted great.

Re: How Soon After the Wedding...
we had a lot of left over cake. We had the top layer and another whole layer left plus a few more pieces. LOL. So the day after the wedding we served cake at our brunch. Then the day after that DH, me, my mom, and dad ate the top layer for bfast. Then we gave the rest of the cake to DH's family to eat while we were gone on our honeymoon. The cake was just too good to waste and we knew if we froze it, it wouldnt have been as good a year later. however I do wish I had frozen some of it to eat when we got back from our honeymoon. It would have only been 2 weeks later. Oh well!
