How was your First Christmas as a newlywed??

I want everyone to answer this question, whether you were married 2000, 2001, or 2002 if you are still here on this board I want to hear about it.

Well ours was spent with family. We kissed as soon as we woke up and he said merry christmas my wife...I blushed. I reminded him that I did not get an ornament that said our 1st Christmas. I think I will stop by Hallmark and get an ornament to mark the day. Hubby said he will be getting me a watch. I got to spend it with him and that is all that matters. It felt great to say, Merry Christmas hubby

Ours was very nice. We spent Christmas night helping a couple that was in our wedding party that we have been dying to see get married already with their wedding decorations and favors. It was so sweet. What was nice about it was that they took out their rings to show us and they look like ours and they are doing our favors too. They said they were touched at our wedding.I really just hugged hubby tighter. It felt good to know there is a couple that is enlighted by our love.

It was great...we had received 3 wedding ornaments. and then we went to my parents house to open presents at 915am! and then to his moms to spend the day.. it was mass hysteria over there, his mom is lousy with gifts!! i dont mean to sound ungreatful, but DOGOPOLY for the both of us??? that would have been nice for me, but she could have gotten her son a little bit more!!!! anyway then it was home to sleep at 830!!

I got married in 2001, so this is our second Xmas together. I also got a hallmark ornament that says
1st Christmas Together, with a bride/groom on it.
I also have an 'engaged 1999' It is cute.
We had a nice Xmas. It still feels like we were just married

Ours was a great Christmas ... hectic, but nice. We cut down this year on our spending because of the house. But we splurged on a few gifts for each other. Our parents were so thoughtful with the gifts and a got a bunch of 'first Christmas' ornaments (mostly from my mom, since she knew I wanted them but hubby bought one too!).
Next Christmas will be in our new home ... that should be exciting.
My younger brother surprised us with a digital camera -- a belated wedding gift, since he just got a job! I can't wait to start taking pictures and scanning them in for Shamma (since I never do post pics)!

Ours was good. Christmas eve we spent at my mom's house and opened up all of our gifts Then went to midnight mass where we got married so that was nice.

Christmas day we mostly spent in the car! It took us 2 hrs to get to my cousins out East and then 3 + hrs to get home!!

DH and I had a great first married Christmas though We bought got a lot of really cute 'first christmas' ornaments, and gifts.

I'm so happy to hear that everyone had such a wonderful Christmas.

Ours was nice. Patrick worked until 3 so that cops with families could be home to see their children open presents. I went to my mom's and he met me there at 4:00. We had a traditional Italian dinner... antipasto, pasta course, meat course, lots of desserts!
It was a wonderful day, except that we were expecting 20 or so relatives from upstate who couldn't make it because of the weather, and my Bronx relatives had a terrible time getting home at night. We missed those who weren't able to join us, and my mom was sad because they are her brothers and sisters, but we made the best of things and had a very nice day.

Cira, I can't wait to see your pix!!! I love pix, any kind of pix, wedding related or not, if you go on a vacation, anything share it with us. We have to keep this side of the board moving. Home improvement, new home, shopping, anything

We had a nice Christmas too. Went to the inlaws Christmas Eve - went out to dinner and exchanged gifts. Went to my mom's for Christmas Day - again dinner and gifts. DH & I exchanged gifts Christmas morning by ourselves. He bought me some nice gifts and he loved his! We also got three 1st Christmas ornaments which meade me feel guilty that we didn't buy a tree this year (too much going on this year and neither of us have been in the Christmas spirit!)

b2b I know how you feel, with the passing of my g-ma I did not bother putting up a tree, but I will definitely get the ornaments, they are 50% off today at the hallmark store.

yeah we did not do a tree this year but I am on my wall to get the discounted ornaments now that christmas is over. Though my mom keeps telling me all the good ones are gone by now.

We stayed in bed for most of the morning. Then we got up, ate breakfast, open presents, and called our family. We then went to my brother's house, where my SIL and I prepared dinner. We ate around 5:00 then hung out with them. We went to DH's sister house about 7:30 for a dinner that was suppose to start at 5:00. Why were we first people there??????????????

I had a wonderful day, and I enjoyed just spending the morning with my honey. We talked about the past year, and made plans for the new one. He says he wants a baby next year. We'll see

Ours was actually our 2nd married Christmas, but it was a great day, tiring, but a great day!! Lots of running around and driving home in the snow on Christmas Eve from Jersey and then again on Christmas Day, but I got lots of goodies, so I must have been a good girl!

And VickiC, I got the diamond/sapphire bracelet and earrings to go with your necklace!!! Big shock that was! And MIL gave me the matching slide (minus diamonds though) to go on my omega!!! I was a REALLY good girl!!!

Ours was nice...it was typical, me trying to get Gary out of bed to open gifts!!! He did get up before me and turn the Christmas tree on so when I walked out of the bedroom I was like wow! It was cute. I was so excited to get a husband card this card for him and he didn't even get me a wife card oh well...he did get me a gift certificate for a one hour massage that I cannot wait to use!
