I want everyone to answer this question, whether you were married 2000, 2001, or 2002 if you are still here on this board I want to hear about it.
Well ours was spent with family. We kissed as soon as we woke up and he said merry christmas my wife...I blushed. I reminded him that I did not get an ornament that said our 1st Christmas. I think I will stop by Hallmark and get an ornament to mark the day. Hubby said he will be getting me a watch. I got to spend it with him and that is all that matters. It felt great to say, Merry Christmas hubby

Re: How was your First Christmas as a newlywed??
Our first christmas married was wonderful...we woke up real late and went downstairs and opened gifts. Then my DH made us breakfast. It was nice just the two of us :)

Thanks for sharing ladies, I love these, so wonderful. I did not get hubby a husband card either.
Bearsbabe do you have any pix or anything close to what the jewelry looks like that you got?? I would love to see it. I love sapphires.

Re: How was your First Christmas as a newlywed??
ours was a little difficult - am I the only one finding these first months to be difficult :(? I first had to try and explain to him why it was inappropriate for him to go to the firehouse 'in case' there was an accident with all the snow....how it really wouldn't be right to leave me sitting home alone on our first christmas night together as husband and wife - I finally convinced him, but there was tension. All in all, I had an okay christmas....I was also so glad I bought myself a newlywed ornament, because I got none!!!

Re: How was your First Christmas as a newlywed??
We are on 6 months and it's hard being married and getting used to each other. There was and still is tension, at times, in our relationship because of all the added stress in our lives and the newness of everything, but you get through it and it does get easier ... I promise you. My mother says the first 5 years is the hardest and my boss said that the first two years are. I love my husband and wouldn't trade him for the world but we have two different personalities and you can't always mesh. But looking at the bigger picture, I am very happy. We get over the tension, learn how to deal with each other's feelings and it just gets better and better. Marriage, like everyone thing else in life, is a learning process.

Re: How was your First Christmas as a newlywed??
Are people still asking you ladies, how is married life?? I need a clever answer beside me telling them it is the worst thing I could have done They all get this look I must say it is a wonderful feeling being married to a wonderful man, as he would say everyday cannot be Sunday but I don't think I would ever want to trade him in. I am blessed.

Re: How was your First Christmas as a newlywed??
amazing! we have been in bed..SLEEPING! since Thursday!. There have been lots of kisses though.
My Christmas gift was a beautiful shearling coat ...and a hair dryer (he must have read my letter to santa)
But the best was his words to his mom. 'Isn't that coat perfect on my wife?' It still sounds so unreal!
