okay so i had this argument with my mother yesterday and i need to see everyone else opinions of it
on our bed we have two comforters, one decorative and one is a down blanket. i use the down and DH uses decorative, i like to cacoon myself in a blanket
my mother thinks its absurd that we dont use a sheet. and of course in the store another older lady agreed!
so i ask what do you guys use
and im not talking about the fitted sheet, ...im talking about the top sheet!
eta: my mom thinks that its the new generations that doesn't use a sheet, so lets see

Sorry guys but I feel like you have to have a flat sheet. This way you wash the sheet and leave the blanket and or comforter on the bed and wash them less frequently.
Exactly. Didn't see your post until after I wrote mine. I believe flat sheets are more for sanitary reasons than anything.

We use the flat sheet & comforter.
I used to hate using a flat sheet, would only use a comforter until I started doing my own laundry. Then my mother pointed out that fact that if we don't use a flat sheet I would have to wash the comforter as often as I change the sheets. I really didn't need another load of laundry so I quickly learned to use a flat sheet. We also tuck our flat sheet like the hotels do.

I never kick my sheet off. To each their own. Just hope you comforter lovers wash them often. Mine is dry clean only so, I'd rather just save money and use sheets.

Ok on our bed its fully made with flat sheet & fitted sheet & then we have a blanket on top of that & then the comforter set. When we go to sleep we pull down the comforter & use the blanket & top sheet only.

We have a flat sheet but dont ever use it... LOL we just use a comforter over us and fitted sheet underneath us... Its MUCH easier to make the bed without one

sometimes i put flat sheet on but i mainly dont. imo its easier to make the bed without it. plus dh never gets under it and if i do then it gets confusing lol
but funny you say that your mom doesnt agree with you because my mom cannot believe i dont use a sheet either.

omg at a hotel, DH hates me, i literally take the sheets, that fuzzy blanket off and throw it on the floor and then bring on the comforter!
see i wont do that in a hotel bc they prob never wash the comforters... YUCKKKK

DH sleeps with the sheet and I sleep with my own blanket and then we share the comforter.
Having our own helps with fighting over blankets in the middle of the night.

We have a sheet blanket sometimes and comforter....
by the morning the sheet is always at the foot of the bed crumbled up....hence, i guess we dont use it!!

we use fitted sheet, flat sheet and comforter. during the winter months we add an additional blanket if its really cold.

We are exactly the same as you. We each have a comforter and then just the fitted sheet that ocvers the mattress. I HATE sleeping with a flat sheet.

DH and I tried the whole top sheet thing, but it ended up getting pushed to the foot of the bed every night and since I don't make the bed every day...it just finally hit the floor and I put it in the laundry...and never put it back on.
same here!
when i slept alone i always used the flat sheet...but the way DH and i sleep....it just winds up on the floor....and the dog uses it! lol

I guess we're not the only weird ones. We only use a down comforter all year long. For the longest time we would put the top sheet on, which would end up on the floor rolled up in a ball because we kicked it off pretty much every night. So we just did away with the top sheet all together..
