Hump Day NWQOTD

While I'm so glad it's Hump Day and the work week is 1/2 over..... I'm still longing for Friday!!

So.... Even though we are all Happily Married Newlyweds .... the question of the day is:

Is there anything you miss about being single?



Mostly - NO! But, as I listen to my friends who are single and going through the newly meeting someone and dating process .... (While often I think 'Thank God I don't have to go through that'...)
...Sometimes I miss that little thrill of first getting to know someone, the first kiss, all those 'firsts'...

(And I will say, sometimes to not have to wear earplugs cause of DH's snoring makes me wish I had the bed to my self again!! )

i don't really like 'first dates' so i can't say i miss that .... but i do miss having a clean apartment ... DH is much messier than me.

That's the only thing I miss...the thrill of the firsts. Even though as a married couple we have a whole new set of firsts...but just watching other people go through brings back memories.

I def. miss those 'first' moments and even some times the games.. 'do i call him' 'do i let him call me' - some times those thrills could be exciting.

I guess I kinda miss going out w/ the girls too - i mean we still do but now we have to plan it.... it used to be, if we were going out it was always just the girls b/c we were all single lol

I agree - I miss the 'firsts' when I hear my friends talking about dates and how excited or unexcited they are, sometime I miss it!

But we have a bunch of 'firsts' coming
buying a house
making a home
babies

just a different kind and still exciting!

i miss being a major flirt and getting free drinks from guys. I feel guilty even accepting them now because i don't want to talk to them

DH buys me drinks now....but his money is my money so it's not exactly free

dating!!! the woo-ing. when a relationship is new, the dates count. we did so many fun things when we were dating and we had no care in the world except having fun

now i feel like we have more responsibility - both at our jobs and in our personal lives (living together, mortgage, saving, etc)....so we dont go out as often and we are more money conscious.

i know its important. but sometimes i miss the free-spirited fun we had.

i also miss taking trips w my girlfriends. partly b/c we are busy and saving money (see above) and partly b/c now im married, i havent planned a girls trip in a while....and by girls trip i mean: vacation to europe or a tropical island !

I miss how shy Dh was to touch me. Now I can't get him to keep it in his pants.


other than that, i really don't miss being single. a part of me always felt kinda empty.

The firsts are amazing, but if you think about... Than after a 'first' than you have to meet a whole new wacked out family with all their quirks, first time meeting theirs friends... The thought of the firsts make me nauseous. Every time Aunt Flo comes to visit, I do miss sleeping by myself.
I miss paying bills for one....
