I am not doing WW but can someone tell me...
The girls in my family back home all go together -- there's like 10 of them now
and they're actually there right now so I can't ask them...My grandma and mom told me something about having to get their 'oils' in for the day... and my grandma will make her oatmeal with like a spoonful of olive oil in it?
I know in limited amounts its good for you - but is this something I can integrate into a basic calorie counting diet? Can someone explain the purpose?

Ok, I am on WW and just looked up the oil part in my handbook (I never totally understood the whole oil thing). The book says 'Include 2 tsps per day of healthy oils such as olive, canola, safflower, or flaxseed so that you get vitamin E and essential fatty acids'I dont see why you couldn't do this on a regular diet either!

Olive oil is the only oil I use ever...for everything. I always substitute it in for any other oil. (I'm sure this is one of several reasons why I can't bake to save my life).I use it every single night for dinner! Can you just incorporate it in by cooking with it?

I use olive oil all the time.. in cooking or in my salad dressings etc, and that's how I count it in with WW.

This might help you understand why it's essential :)Two teaspoons a day of olive, canola, safflower, sunflower or flaxseed oil is what WW recommends. Personally, I get it in either in cooking or I just mix olive oil with some balsamic vinegar as a salad dressing, though it's a bit common with some WW-ers to mix oil into their oatmeal or yogurt just to get it in.
