I ate my wedding cake!

And it was SO YUMMY! Even after all of this time.

But I also discovered that my bridal attendants wrote a really sweet note on my cake box!! I <3 JT!

Aww that was nice. Glad to hear it was still yummy! DH is not looking foward to eating it

wow- thats great that it was still good after a year

we ate ours already dh and i kept talking about it, so I took it out of the freezer and brought it to my grandmothers for christmas- ours was good too

Aww nice!!

I cant wait to open ours up.

Well my parents should go into a cake preservation business. They hold wedding cakes for all of our family and even friends LOL!

We have an extra freezer in the basement. THey wrapped it in about 15 sheets of heavy duty foil and then about 10 plastic bags.

They left it out all day and then put it back in the fridge yesterday morning so it would be ready for us when we got back



oh yeah and the nice letter makes me feel EVEN WORSE about not doing vendor thank yous!

I know what you mean, my BM wrote a really sweet note on the cake box where they packed our cake. When I open my fridge and look at it I just think awwwww. Unlike you my cake is wrapped horribly so I doubt it will be edible. I just feel bad throwing it out so at least I will have one bite from it.

I wrapped mine pretty well, but not as well as your parents, Tilde. We had a piece a week after our wedding and then wrapped it up. We are hoping to move in September or October of this year though, so we may have to eat ours before the one year anniversary .... but it will be close.

yes, it was bittersweet last night. i have not had one moment of sadness that the wedding was over in this whole year but last night I teared up after we ate it - like ok the fun part is over.

But I am getting over it, I dont care what people say - we are still NWs and there is still a lot of fun stuff to look forward to!

awww! ours has a note on the box too!

ours is just in the box in the freezer - it hasn't been in there long but it doesn't look like there will be any freezer burn or anything it looks so good....omg i want to eat it now!!

its funny b/c we almost ate it like 5 times already we LOVED the way our cake tasted and we barely ate any - and it looks so goooood everytime we peek in the box.....

for our anniversary i want to go to dortoni and have either a sheet cake or small replica made of our wedding cake, same flavors and same icing design - i want to do it and surprise DH - i just hope we still live in NY so i can do it but if i think we are moving before than i am going to do it for his bday which is in June.....i think it would be cool to eat the same cake again that way we could really enjoy it!

Congrats on your 1 year My wedding cake is in the freezer packed up all nice thanks to my mom and aunt. I had no patience for that when we got home from the wedding Glad you enjoyed your cake!!!

Glad your cake was good as well. Oh man I think I am going to have some when DH comes home. We loved our cake and we already had a piece or 2 from it (ok well at least I did I don't know about DH) after the wedding rigth before the honeymoon haha. I can't save cake. I am a big sweets person.
